Dallas Morning News triples distribution of Spanish-language publication Al Dia
I am surprised this years old post was allowed to remain up. The Dallas Morning News usually smashes and threatens when anyone complains about Al Dia, and has any posts removed from ANY website. That is because the DMN runs the Al Dia newspaper. They cannot be stopped because they get the city council, in my area the Dallas City Council, to ok thier delivery of "NEWS". It is actually advertisements with a "free spanish newspaper" wrapped around them. So the city council will stop advertisements being dumped on your yard by a illegal immigrant at 3 am, but this is free news, so the city council says they can do it. They don't care if you call and "opt out" of thier free delivery, and thier delivery drivers can't read even if they gave them a list of homes not to deliver it to. They deliver it to vacant houses with 20 of thier papers already laying there, and in my neighborhood they even deliver it to a vacant lot with no house. There is one on the roof of a house across from me. They threw thier trash on my car 3 times. When I called to "opt out" for the 7th time and asked to speak to a supervisor he informed me that I was mistaken, and that his records indicated I had only opted out 3 times. He seemed genuinely puzzled why that angered me. It still gets thrown on my yard occasionally, or in my flower gardens, or in the middle of the street. Every Saturday and Wednesday I have to go pick up the advertisments blowing into my yard from up and down the street. Nobody wants it and don't like having to pick it up. Schoolkids pick them up and throw at each other and bust them open, cars drive over them and bust them open. And the dallas city council doesn't care if my neighborhood looks like trash, because they have declared it a predominately hispanic neighborhood, and therfore told Al Dia they can throw thier trash onto every lawn twice a week, as long as they disguise it as "free news".
