Steak & Shake--where shall I begin? I always have had really good service. To me it isn't the Steak; its the Shake. The many varieties of love in a glass. I personally prefer a cold vanilla or coffee flavored ice cream with a nice hot fudge thickly lavished throughout. I like pulling up at the drive through after a bad day and knowing hot fudge in a straw is moments away. Who thought of this? They must be a genius! OH another thing about Steak & Shake is that they let me have strawberry shortcake like my grandmother made (with the biscuits, you know?) BEFORE my steakburger. They cater to all the whims and wishes of my family without batting an eye. I love Steak & Shake

This is an elegant, well-run full service Italian restaurant. Bread with olive oil, pastas, pizzas, all with impeccable service. I had lasagne...cheesy wonderful. This tiny place is on the way to Stonebriar Mall it has certainly earned a spot on my map. Prices were surprising low in my opinion.

Brisket tacos and the sauces and sitting outside and watching all the pretty people, this is part of the Taco Diner's appeal. That and the decor. The restroom doors are very interesting. Back to the tacos, these are so good--Try dripping some of the chipotle sauce on the aromatic shredded beef and taste the pleasure. After that, I recommend a margarita on the rocks to top it off. Nothing gets me in the mood for the Magnolia's art flicks like the Taco Diner.

The hushpuppies are divine, when I pick up food at lunch, my whole office comes around to see what smells so good. And it tastes that good. Two and three piece meals with fries and hushpuppies. Okra and hot wings are spicy/tantalizing, also. The restaurant interior is nice but always crowded (thats a sign). They have a small seating section outside. A great place.

Jasmine is a very pretty place. A nice date place. Lunch is good. Sesame Chicken was average, but the meal is served in such a nice atmosphere it seems just a cut above the ordinary chinese restaurant. It is very pink. The service is rather slow if you are in a hurry.

And all that Jazz...I love the vibe at Red Hot and Blue, almost as much as the dry rub ribs. But no... nothing comes close to the smell...,and the taste of those delectable, spicy ribs (I prefer to order the dry rub and douse them with a combination of the hot and mild sauce at the table to have a little party with my senses). I also enjoy the pulled pork. The prices are excellent. Service is friendly and fast, this is one of my favorite places.

Nate's is authentic New Orleans, crowded, and awesome. The gumbo was delicious, catfish tasty without being fried. Atmosphere was as if you were in Louisiana, except there were tall Texans mixed in with the shorter French Cajun varieties. Everything, including service, went above and beyond expectation, but you must wait for it, and wait paitently we did.

The Chicken Enchiladas are from heaven, I know that sounds extreme. But just taste them. I bet Gabrielle is mixing up the cream sauce as we speak. I can't make myself try any entree but the enchiladas, but the twice baked potatoes were delicious. The only problem with the little restaurant is that it is cold and has no decor.

Sangria, Manchego Cheese, bread, Spanish potato omlet, Beef skewers, ahhhh. I love tapas--delicious little plates of party for your taste buds. Detapas is relaxed and a great experience, but prepare to take your time (the staff tends to be cultured this way). When you combine say, the sangria and cheese, which are excellent together... also pair that with conversation from the right friends and there you have it... the beginnings of a perfect evening.

Akira Sato Jazz trumpeter Akira Sato, by way of Tokyo, Japan and Vancouver, Canada, is an SMU faculty member and director of The Meadow Jazz Orchestra at SMU. He is also an adjunct faculty member at UNT where he teaches jazz arranging. Sato is also heading into the studio soon with other area musicians and playing at the Scat Jazz Lounge tonight. With all that he's up to, the least you could do is order a Scotch on the rocks and chill to some tunes. (Photo by flickr user arteunporro. More info

The colors are as vibrant as the flavors, I love both the sesame chicken, and the sweet and sour chicken. The food is much better than the average Asian restaurant. I like the order lines; we can order one dish for the two of us and have plenty of food and no waste! It is a very pleasant inviting dining area and the food is perfect.
