Crime Watch 1177 to meet November 8 -- Finally

You're right, Mike. People do affiliate more with names than numbers.

Eastwood is our Subdivision's name. However, there is another neighborhood in town that has taken it!!! (http://www.neighborhoodlink.com/dalla...)

They actually are in the Dixon Branch area (Peavy, Lake Gardens, Easton are boundaries). Let's have a vote for a new name.

UPDATED: Love Nails at Lakeland & Ferguson and a Deputy on the scene robbed at gunpoint

I live in the Neighborhood behind the shopping center. This is ridiculous! So much for the FRI initiative helping this area of town!

Residential burglary uptick in White Rock Village

I live on Sweetwater Drive, and we had an attempted break-in around that same time. Not that long before that someone stole a bike from my garage while I was taking something to the front yard. I alerted my crimewatch after that happend. We are supposed to have crimewatch in our neighborhood, but I really haven't seen any affects from it. Seems to be in name only.

Owners of Dallas restaurant Shinsei want to clarify that they are the only Shinsei

The owners of Kenzoku are actually 7 family members from Asia. They pulled together their savings years ago with the idea of making a family-run restaurant under the name Sheinsei. Their attorney did complete a name/copyright search and at the time it turned up nothing. The assumption that they knew about Shinsei before they opened and therefore were intent on taking advantage of Fearing/Rathburn's reputation is false and unfair. The logo that Kenzoku was using at the time which was said to be uncomfortably similiar to the one used by Fearing/Rathburn's was actually the japanese symbol for Sheinsei. Hardly a unique and ownable property.

Twisteddog has hit the nail on the head. After big city marketing lawyers come after you and make you spend a small fortune from your family's savings to change your signs, menus, and uniforms, you just don't feel like talking about it anymore.

Rathburn and Fearing are really playing the role of victims well. It is one of the better marketing tactics seen in a long time.
