Dear Matt's El Rancho, please stay. You are one of my favorite places in Dallas. Thank you for not being cookie-cutter.

(And you, Mi Cocina, it's sad to hear that you're eyeing lakewood, even though I like your food.)

Taco Ocho is a great lunch for the typical price of what "lunch" should be in Richardson, TX. If you think that this is going to be the East Dallas (a la my favorite place in my hood, La Famosita in Casa View, or some other neighborhood taqueria) style, you'll be [pleasantly] disappointed.

The Beef Colorado taco packs a mighty punch. I also recommend the beer battered fish taco. You'll be full after a two-taco plate. The tostadas are good if you're in to veggeis. If you want to go spend the same amount on 7 teeny barbacoa tacos at a "neighborhood" place, go ahead on! They are always good. I think Taco Ocho serves super-fresh food - so get your wallet. Good, fresh food costs money.

I'm excited for this place to open. They served some great craft beers yesterday.

I wish they'd open a store in East Dallas too. Need.

I drove by Good 2 Go this morning (Friday) and I could see a line of people inside. It's open!

Oh, bring it on. This is on my way to work now. Even closer to the house!

Tragic. Don't get me wrong; I'm a fan of Apple products. Seriously though, seems a little bit obsessive to camp out one week ahead of time. I hope he doesn't get sick from being in the heat all day!

In the sport of tennis, there is a dreaded spot in between the service line and base line called "no man's land." Last night's crowd personified "no man's land" perfectly. Scream-talkers in the back (Dallas has zero live show etiquette), and unsupervised scream-o hipster teens in the front. See you at the bar.
