Restaurant review: International Food of Denton
"Leaving with a sore jaw and acidic aftertaste, we weren’t thrilled with International Food. This eatery seems on the brink of something extraordinary if it can nail down some culinary issues."
Who writes crap like this? Is this 6th grade journalism? "Sore jaw" and "acidic aftertaste" = leagues away from "something extraordinary". The next step up would just be "edible".

UPDATED with video: Colorful Farmers Branch Japanese festival draws thousands
"No professionals doing this", Mr. Makita said, but I thought it was very well organized. Congrats to all who helped put this together. My request for next year: encourage the restaurants to serve even more authentic foods.

Amy's Raw Chocolates bringing healthy chocolate to Dallas
Why is all that stuff in there? just so they can say, and have it parroted, that's it's packed with superfoods (whatever that means)? I can't see those ingredients doing anything but detracting/distracting from the taste of cocoa. Also, I can't recall ever feeling guilty about eating chocolate. I'm with the other poster: simple is good (reaches blind into chocolate drawer and retrieves....a bar of Theo Ghana Fair Trade 84%, which lists ingredients as: "Cocoa beans (Ghana)+, Sugar). Lucky.

Restaurant review: Abacus
I am, relatively speaking, a fan of Abacus, but this piece is more shill than review.
Whoever wrote this wasted a lot of copy, yet there's scant mention of actual food, service, or ambiance.
So, were there other redeeming qualities of the bacon, other than it was "thick"?
But, hey, at least the anonymous writer can vouch for the fact that the wine is "the good stuff", not the stuff he/she "usually" swills.
Dang, Gomer, that's all you had to say! Why is my ass NOT haulin' it to Abacus right this very moment?
What a sorry, amateurish excuse for a "review".
Pegasus: why publish something like this embarrassing?
