New Dallas St. Patrick's Parade will take focus off drinking

Its St. Patty's Day and people are going to party somewhere. The vast majority are going to be on lower Greenville so you might as well give them a play ground to play on.

If Dallas starts to make everything PG then tourism isn't going to exist and people are going to spend money in other cities.

The people that are behind this movement for change are the people that live in that area and I'll tell you the same thing that I tell the people that live right above my bar in N. Texas; You moved above a bar, what did you expect. Every year we get some new tenant that moves into one of the apts above my bar and every year, for about the first month, they are constantly calling the police and the police tell them the same thing. Once they figure out the police aren't doing anything, they start to call the bar and once we kindly let them know they were the smart family that moved next to a bar and they slowly start to realize their own stupidity.

I get the fact that the housing community around Lower Greenville use to be a nice place and some parts still are, but fact of the matter is that before you get to this nice community you have to go through quite a few blocks of bars; not to mention the strip clubs...

My point being, if one is going to clean up that area start with the strip clubs and all the trash around it, then the bars, rebuild the area to create finer restaurants and retail outlets. One can't expect a deference by merely scratching the surface and Dallas will never fork over the dough for that project. Good Luck!!
