Concert review: Deep Ellum's Big Folkin' Festival proved that everyone should like folk music
The QCNH were great Themcnultyfive. We just decided to focus on the other acts, in part, because we recently reviewed Quaker City's new record. We are definitely fans!

Photos and review: Nicki Minaj at Verizon Theatre (July 29)
Brannyou: Yes, you're right about "Starships" - it was played earlier on. That was my mistake. But I think the costumes could've been crazier, especially from what she's come up with in the past.

Concert review: Sarah Jaffe, John Dufilho, and Zhora at Granada Theater (May 5)
@Irhenrie Thanks for your analysis! I loved the show. I have seen Sarah many, many times and have never been bored. I think she continuously pushes herself to new heights by discarding former instruments and teaching herself new ones and continues to open up lyrically. I was a bit disappointed that the audience didn't seem to know any of her new record (after all, it did only come out 2 weeks ago!) because the crowd interaction is so exhilarating at her shows.

Friday at SXSW: M. Ward, Ben Kweller, and Rhett Miller (March 16)
@txmuzik I must have misheard Rhett's announcement of their name. And I was referencing their freshman album together, not Rhett MIllers' total catalog. Thanks for the input!

Photos and concert review: Kelly Clarkson and Matt Nathanson at Verizon Theatre (February 10)
Thank you Steve! I was at her Austin show earlier this week, and it's important to say that the Dallas crowds snagged a longer set. Guess she wanted to give her hometown a unique set just for us!

Concert review: Wilco and Smith Westerns at UNT Main Auditorium (May 7)
The guitar battle was pretty much a bridge into "Heavy Metal Drummer," causing the above confusion. Thanks for the lookout!

Dallas officials say that the Convention Center hotel will cost a mere $356 million
This is just crazy. Tell me how we need another hotel in Dallas, especially in these crazy times.

This is amazing. It's great to hear stories like this instead of the bleeker ones told everywhere.

Concert Review: Sheryl Crow and James Blunt at Superpages.com Center (August 15)
I was wondering the same thing myself Rachel. It was a great cover, but he kind of came out of no where. I'm sad that I missed the Toots and the Maytals.
