Dallas' daytime juvie curfew goes into effect on Monday

Hmmmm....business owners have to be excited about providing ancillary law enforcement services without remuneration...

Our tax dollars at work - police relegated to nabbing truants instead of criminals.

Too bad the schools seem unable to refer these incidents to the court for prosecution - like they should.

Seems to me that if you force a court appearance and subject parents to a hefty fine, then maybe they just might take a bit more interest in their children's whereabouts during the day...maybe even actually ensure they attend?

Who am I kidding? One more naive illusion bites the dust....<sigh> </sigh>

Dallas company using t-shirts to spread eco-awareness

Wish I would have thought of it first, too.

With you on that one! Definitely worth looking in to....maybe then I could support my daughter's school without cringing about the garbage I will, without a doubt, dump into the round file when it arrives. And I KNOW I can't be alone in my rush to dodge my co-workers when I see them tip-toeing in and out of offices...one by one....like a stalker looking for his next crush.... With school starting next week, I am already planning my escape routes!

Chesapeake Energy admits North Texas earthquakes may, in fact, have been caused by gas well drilling

Don't you know that was a comfort to everyone living in the surrounding area...

"Yes, feeling as if your house/business is falling off of it's foundation - and the inevitable depreciated value due to damages probably not covered by your insurance - that was not really a natural disaster...we just didn't think that far ahead...Oopsy...sorry,guys."

Oh, the joy and rapture they must be feeling. Such a warm fuzzy - who knew?

Arlington schedules unused pharmaceuticals collection event

Wish more cities would do this....I can only imagine the chemicals spewing into our water supply on a daily basis.

Is it even possible to filter that out?

Considering the potential (and probable)long-term impact to our health... Russian Roulette, anyone?
