Back when I lived in The Village apartment community (in 3 of their complexes at various times), I strongly suspected that the leasing consultants were hired based solely on looks. Occasionally, I would encounter one who was smart as well as beautiful, and it would be a pleasant surprise.

I'll bet they just want this one guy to move and have made up the rule for him. I doubt they seriously believe that two pickup models are really that different from one another. Sure, it's possible that they really are that stupid, but I think the explanation that they've singled out this guy for other reasons is more likely.

When are we going to outlaw telemarketers who take it upon themselves to freelance fund-raise for legitimate charities? And why can't the legitimate charities (if that's what they are) simply refuse that .10 on the $1 that they receive from these dodgy telemarketers? Am I oversimplifying?

We need more laws like this. The worst thing about roadside pet sales is that it promotes the impulse purchasing of pets. Animals are the last thing that should ever be bought on impulse. How many of these pets go to homes and families that aren't prepared for them, and how many of them are never properly cared for?

I hope this doesn't mean doom for the Dallas Grand. I pass it frequently on the way home and can't help staring and imagining what an amazing place it must have been 40 or 50 years ago. The news article says he was convicted of molesting 3 preteen boys in 1986. Terrible, to be sure, but still more than 20 years ago. And it doesn't say how old he was when he did the molesting.
