At one point in the debate I wondered if international wires hadn't been crossed and my set was picking up an Israeli election campaign by mistake--both candidates were trying to outgush the other regarding Israel and how much we all just love it and must continue to bankroll it. WTF????

It's a lot easier to arrest people who are essentially harmless than those who are really dangerous, plus the cops get to break up the boredom of their jobs by breaking up someone's good time. And the politicians and busybodies get to wax self-righteous about morality...until THEY'RE caught in an airport lavatory or found in some madam's black book.

But there are people who do want to see guys (attractive ones) in short shorts and I'm sure they could rig up something where they have both genders behind the bar. What places like Hooters, etc, really do is discriminate against less-than-beautiful people. And that discrimination will always be legal.

DC: Unlike you, I'm open-minded, so I do try new things. I did think your ongoing insistence was fishy, though. Other people use chaw and enjoy it, so I wasn't too worried about following your "anonymous" advice, especially since you asked politely. Teresa: I prefer Camels, though if you an get your hands on Majors (made in Ireland), it would be awesome. I'll bet if we followed you through a normal day, we'd find a large number of carcinogenic things that you are probably unaware of because there's no well-funded campaign of hysteria against them as of yet.

Y'all don't get it. This is America and the goal is not to make society safer or do what makes sense. The goal is to produce as much punishment as possible to satisfy the free-floating animosity of the population at large.
