Brinker no longer operates Corner Bakery; so the new venture capital group will need to do something to keep the concept in the black, however that probably won't happen since they aren't an industry group. Like Macaroni Grill, Brinker purchases good concepts, and in order to keep consistency, change the original menu - "cookie-cutter" the concept (sacrificing all the things that make the concept unique), expand it then sell it off to keep the "Chili's" concept afloat. A Bakery that can't make a decent hearty, loaf of bread is not a bakery.

On Dallas-based Corner Bakery firing up coffee in its planned comeback

The Carrabbas' location in Lakewood opened which consequently forced the refusal of the extension of a lease to a long-time local Italian eatery, which resulted in their closure. It's unfortunate that greedy developers/landlords choose to sign deals with mediocre chain restaurants and force the "neighborhood" places out...when will they learn....we don't want chains here...go to North Dallas, Plano, Frisco, etc.

On Two Dallas-area branches of Carrabba's Italian Grill shut down

unfortunate...however there was a reason to visit that CIUDAD AND THE LOCATION.....the chef;that's now in some area near LAKE GRAPEVINE...UGGH...no, I'll continue to visit Deep Ellum to get inspired menus...thank you.
