    Collin County: diversity and elections

I don't think he was saying any of those issues are exclusive to "only one ethnicity", just that they were common to it.

UPDATED: N9NE Steakhouse in Dallas' Victory Park appears to have closed Wednesday night

SkyHigh, I think it'd be more entertaining to keep the name in the ironic sense. Kind of like "Mission Accomplished".

Denny's freebie puts Dallas media in royal tizzy

The only time I've actually eaten the breakfast was when they were giving it away for free on black Friday. Their phone system said they opened at 8, but they weren't actually planning on opening until 10. I left with a hot meal, a cold nose, and a bed frame.

    Starbucks provokes decaf brew-haha

Actually, if you must do decaf, the process used to decaffeinate the beans makes a big difference in the flavor. I don't know if Starbucks uses the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decaffeination#Swiss_water_process">Swiss water process</a>, but it at least makes decaf only mildly unappetizing rather than completely undrinkable.

I wonder if this applies to decaf espresso as their super-automatics (the stores that still have them) are supposed to automate even the grinding.

UNT quarterback Giovanni Vizza to transfer

I don't think they're telling him where he can and can't transfer but where he can or can't play football. So if you want to talk about him being treated like a student and not a piece of meat, you have to assume academics are his primary motivation for transferring.

    Not everyone has Obamania

Rawlins, as an 8th generation Texan and descendent of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collin_McKinney">one of the writers</a> of the <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_declaration_of_independence">Texas Declaration of Independence</a>, I wholeheartedly agree about the oversimplification of the reasons for secession.

Rail system for entire Dallas-Fort Worth area could be on its way

<i>"You don't need a car," Jordan said. "And the key is going to be that the transit system runs frequently enough that you can rely on it."</i>

I'm all for public transportation (sitting on a bus as I write), but this sounds extremely shortsighted to me. Having trains that connect cities does not in itself alleviate the need for a car. Our entire sprawling transportation infrastructure is built on low population density, meaning if you want to get somewhere you're almost certainly going to have to drive.
