Victor and Russ, here is some pseudo-official clarification on that one, just so we are all on the same page as to who everyone is referring to:

An official word from Oncor:
"Residential customers don't pay bills to Oncor, as BillUSA99 correctly pointed out. Regardless of which retail electric provider you use, your power is delivered over Oncor's poles and wires. Oncor is a publicly regulated utility and every penny Oncor makes is authorized by state government. Oncor is as separate from retail electric providers... with different investors and a different board of directors. Leaving a light on helps Oncor crews quickly assess where help is needed to ensure any neighbors without power gets it restored as safely and swiftly as possible -- and who doesn't want that?"

SWEET. I hope the two are replaced with non-chain restaurants or bars. Maybe the Chili's isn't doing well because nobody likes eating there.

I went back to the exhibit with family, and I gotta say, for the love of God take the train. Parking is a nightmare and expensive. That coupled with the already sky-high ticket prices somewhat diminishes the overall value of the experience.

For about 5 minutes on the news last night I noticed that Obama was actually ahead of McCain in Texas. We all assumed of course that Austin was probably the first to report, but it was still funny.
