Met him a few weeks back. Seems like a nice guy but I agree w/ Hot Rod Lincoln.

I suspect Road Agent will take part in the DEEP Art Walk on April 18 then. After all we all really should stick together. Kudos on hanging in there I know it's not easy.

A great night by anybody's standard. Much props to Elisa and her girls! Unfortunately I see several more fest on the horizon and it seems doomed to be the latest trend. Anybody remember the swing dance craze or the homebrew craze? Both were well intentioned tips of the hat towards days gone by. Thye got up and running and then crashed not long after everyone got on the wagon. I'm just saying enjoy it while you can.

"Ten Four Good Buddy’ is no longer just a truckers term… it’s also a date to remember. This Saturday, October 4th @ 7:00 pm Kettle Art will host Scotty Mankoff’s first ever one man show. This exhibit will feature over ONE THOUSAND photos of Dallas shot paparazzi style over this past year. Imagine that coming from such a subdued guy like Scotty. Be there and there’s a good chance you will see you on display!

Bar of Soap always had free parking in the back and no cover.

On Bar of Soap, venerable rock bar-laundromat in Dallas' Exposition Park district, closes

Bar of Soap has been around 22 years. Before that Charlie had the Twilite Room / Circle A Ranch for another 3 years. Always punk rock never trendy. Dirt has always been part of the turf. Nowadays you are welcome to pay 32.50 for the band and $4.50 a beer at a nice clean venue to see the same bands he hosted years ago. Those still around include NOFX, Dropkick Murphy's, Offspring, Butthole Surfers, Soul Asylum etc. Priceless shows you probably missed include Black Flag, TSOL, the Dead Kennedy's, Husker Du, Circle Jerks, and Johnny Thunders to name a few. Oh and the legendary CBGB's was a total disgusting dump as well and look what it spawned for culture at large. Alcohol will kill nearly anything you may catch at a dirty club anyway so who cares... Bar of Soap / Charlie Gilder will be sorely missed. Punk Rock = Good. Cheap Beer = Good. Clean Clothes = Good. Clay 213 = a DJ plenty of us can't wait to experience.
