Although too expensive, the Dodies blocks from my house on Greenville is excellent........I miss South La too but it works.

Try Nates in North Dallas, youll like.

Blue cheese bacon burger, cheese fries all the way, and two cheap margaritas.....ok 3 margaritas. Then check out the kiss on the mirror in the original part of the restaurant, front section.

    Jimmy's Food Store

I agree.....a few things to note... Jimmy's is about to start closing on Sundays on March 23, sad news for us in the hood as my wife and I would often split an Italian Stallion all the way, and a Cuban with hot sauce on those lazy days. And dont be a sissy and skip the hot sauce either.... If you go there for lunch during the week get there by 11:15 or the crush of yuppies from downtown will push your wait time to over 30 minutes. Dont forget Mama's homemade meatballs, really are the best Ive ever had, frozen or ready to go, and the homemade Italian sausage fresh in the case. Get a meatball sub with peppers and onions, thats what our son orders, and the smell of the garlic and cheese will have you opening the box before you shut your car door. Yeah you can eat there if you want, there's tables. And in the side freezers by the door you can pick up small batch ice cream from Henry's of Plano that is the best Ive had in town, or homemade pastas and other entrees made fresh in store. And did I mention the enormous wine selection, the cheeses, desserts, the wine tastings on Saturdays, and the wine dinners almost every week in the backroom?
