"What the hell is this music?"
There is this weird dichotomy I feel when this subject comes up.
On the one hand, there is the cultured tongue/ear that i have developed by being forced to listen to new (to me) music for no less than 8 hours a day while at conservatory for ten freakin' years. I remember with horrifying detail the nightmares my psyche was subjected to in the wee hours during my Masters second semester when i was forced to memorize hours of 20th century classical (new/arthouse/holyshithinkmysoulisbeinganalprisonraped) music. But out of all that mess there were glorious moments when things opened up and what i once found indefensible, i grew to love and listened to music in new and different ways.
On the other hand, who the hell are you to tell me that something is good or it totally sucks you douchebag!?
This very subject and my subsequent hostility flares up even among members of my own band. “How the hell can you think Fugazi sucks? Are you insane? Did mommy force you to play with dead kitties and eat toenails for breakfast!?”
I think the one thing that i (and maybe you) can take from this feeling is that I love music. I really love music. And i personalize it. Like, I eat ramen to listen/play music and I cry over stupid chord progressions in Au Clair de la Lune as if they were the dialogue to my soul's Requiem. Whatever. So you love music. And you personalize it. Heck, we aren't just fans of The Clash. We are in The Clash. And if someone doesn't like our music, then bollocks to 'em.

Planned Parenthood of North Texas opens 29th clinic in McKinney with express services
Jim Roderick's quotes are ludicrous. So McKinney has limited options for health care? Well, it is good thing Planned Parenthood is around to help out all them po' folks. Are they offering dialysis? How about dental?

I'd be happy to take one for the team and go topless. And I'm sure that my nipples are equally as hairy as their own women.

Dear Readers, notice who writes the column. Todd Maternowski. I could easily spend time here listing how the process was tainted in smarmy boy's favor, but i am above taking cheap shots. No not really. Just too lazy to type cheap shots.

The Aeros in Houston have had a strong following for years. They almost got an NHL team a couple of years ago. Hmmm, fourth largest city in the country. Its actually a surprise cities like Tampa Bay, Phoenix, and Atlanta have NHL teams and they don't.

From wiki on moron. Of course, I don't believe everything I read. I still think they're related.
Moron was originally an English scientific term, coined in 1910 by psychologist Henry H. Goddard from the Greek word moros meaning "dull" (as opposed to sharp) and used to describe a person with a mental age between 8 and 12 on the Binet scale. It was also once applied to people with an IQ of 51-70 and was a step up from "imbecile" (IQ of 26-50) and two steps up from "idiot" (IQ of 0-25). The word moron, along with "retarded" and "feeble-minded" (among others), was once considered a valid descriptor in the psychological community, though these words have all now passed into common slang use, exclusively in a detrimental context.

How is it that I spend 30 minutes writing how a Cardinal beats a Saint and yet Todd can just wash that away and have the Saint winning in a mascot war on the "Big Board?" Beautiful, Mr. Maternowski, beautiful.

I have been updating all the bars and their weekly events the last couple of days. There is no mention of Karaoke on Wednesdays on their website but I will call them this week to confirm about it. Thanks for the heads up.

Movie review: For the Bible Tells Me So
In any discussion, its important for there to be no ambiguity of terms. From dictionary.com: bias - a particular tendency or inclination, esp. one that prevents unprejudiced consideration of a question; prejudice.
Everyone has a "world" view. That does not necessitate "bias."
