UPDATED: Suspicious package at Dallas post office was ... rocks
Working the system maybe? "Psst, hey...we can all get the rest of the day off if we cough and act like we're in pain" Classic efficiency and steadfastness of the USPS.

Fort Worth-based American Airlines touts its cargo division for transporting King Tut exhibit
What irony. Considering all AA's planes are in fact aging sarcophoguses, this fits.

Dallas-based ACS wins contract to provide contactless ticketing system in Riga, Latvia
Ah, yes. Great technology (similar to Sony's Felica) that could very well be implemented here locally on DART...not that it would help their pitiful service area. Of course blame DART for not seriously addressing the dire need for mass transit here. Oh wait, what need? We unflinchingly pay $3 a gallon for gas and continue paying all the associated costs of having a car: fuel, insurance, registration, inspection, maintenance, parking, tolls, loan/lease payment, etc. It's truly sad we really have no viable alternative here.

Macy's in Valley View to close
Not only are all of the above true, but here's another: the mall parking lot hosts a ghetto traveling carnival a few times a year. And that just attracts such a good crowd. When was the last time you ever saw one of these at ANY mall with a Nordstrom's, Saks, or Neiman's? It's more at home in places like Six Flags Mall or Irving Mall. They should just do what they did with Prestonwood, raze the entire place.

Coppell to host annual Christmas parade through town
Hate to break it to you but Coppell stopped being a "small town" in the late 80s. It's changed quite a bit since then, and not necessarily for the better...unless you count the city squandering it's citizens' revenue on BMW motorcycles for the police or perhaps LED-illuminated street signs. Won't you please run one of their many red-light cameras so they can spend more?

UPDATED: Rachael Ray to appear at Williams-Sonoma in Southlake on Saturday Dec. 8
Whatever. Bring Anthony Bourdain here and then that'll be something to celebrate. Of course, Southlake is probably too much of a materialistic sell-out to him. Best of all? He's hated WAY more than Rachel Ray, eschews just about all the "TV chefs" and isn't always faking the perkiness Ray so artificially exudes. In a word, he's real. Not REAL fake.

Icelandic company FL Group dumps American Airlines stock
They're just pissed they didn't spin-off their AAdvantage program (as they requested), and instead AMR is getting rid of AAmerican Eagle. I mean come on, did you honestly think AMR was (or is) ever gonna get rid of their Frequent Flier program? They KNOW that is the ONLY reason people fly them (out of choice). If they get rid of that, there is no incentive to ever do business with them: old planes, horrendous service, no on-board entertainment, etc, etc.

Dallas ranked 5th-best WiFi usage in the whole world
This report doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. Why don't they start looking at entire countries blanketed in Wi-Fi instead of just cities? If that's the case, Singapore kicks everyone's...

American Airlines earns accolades for its in-flight wine program
Great! Vintage wine that goes so well with vintage aircraft! You gotta love how AMR and the rest of Arpey's crew can come up with such savvy band-aids...last week it was their new "On" in-flight magazine. Even their new wi-fi offerings on board aren't enough. It's simply another coat of lipstick on the pig.

American Airlines unveils new inflight entertainment magazine, ON American Airlines
Whoa ho ho! Look at AMR go! Guess this is their answer to Virgin America. Yeah Arpey, a sleek magazine in an old flying sarcophagus just does wonders for the ol' hipness quotient.

Wow this new layout is blowing my mind
