Despite the weather the overall turnout and enthusiasm was pretty good. Much less alcohol consumption (needed to start selling Irish coffee or mulled wine) and the focus was more on the art booths than the bands, perhaps because this allowed you to keep moving.

I've been a resident of Deep Ellum for 4 years and have witnessed first hand its recent decline. During this time the Deep Ellum Association has been the only voice for residents of the community. I have no particular allegiance to members of the Deep Ellum Association board. That said, I know that if I have a concern or idea on how to improve the community I can attend an Association meeting and be taken seriously. It is absolutely preposterous that the opinions and concerns of Deep Ellum residents would be shut out.

I'm not sure where this story came from. I just got back from the Bone. It's open with a live band and appreciative crowd.

This was a really great place to kick back and listen to local music. No warning, no explanation...
