Food: 4/5   Vibe: 4/5   Service: 2/5   Value: 3/5   Overall: 2/5

Brooklyn Jazz Cafe is a mess! I have been a few times & this is what I have experienced. The live music & grown atmosphere is nice, but there are some MAJOR issues that these people need to address before I ever spend another dollar in there again. There are a few things that can/will make your experience a stressful one, so if you go- know this: On the weekends there is a $20-50 minimum per person per table & you can only sit at your table for 2 hours max. The sound system to usually VERY loud, which gives this restaurant a club vibe & the AC does not work on the side area. They may sit you at a table with random people, even if you made reservations & after 2 hours you have to get up & stand or move to another part of the building & most tables are reserved or have a minimum. The last time I went there was what sent me over the top! Me & my friends were waiting to be seated, so we went to the bar to order drinks. There were fruit flies & gnats evrywhere & as we waited, a bug flew into my drink. I asked the bartender to remake my drink & with an attitude, she poured it out & remade it in the same glass.SICK! Then we were seated in the front & throughout my dinner people were standing right behind my table talking & bumping into my chair the entire time. They need a better way to control the overflow of people & better customer service. I think they operate like a mom & pop spot, but it's too big for that. If I have to pay at least $20 a person to be there, then I want to enjoy my 2 hours without bugs, attitude, delay or discomfort. Get it together folks!
