    Theater Review: Gulf View Drive

See any or, if at all possible at this late date, all of the three plays. Kudos to all; especially the two primary actors, tech staff and stage manager; involved in this trilogy. It is a great accomplishment for a small organization.

Theater Review: Last Train To Nibroc

Last Train To Nibroc is a delight. Part two, See Rock City goes beyond by bringing in so many social issue as well as two additional characters. This "little" production provides moments more moving that anything I have seen in any Dallas/Fort Worth venue. Very much looking forward to part three.

    Theater Review: The Star-Spangled Girl

It was a cute show, but wish the curtain speech had not mentioned the 1966 setting. I could not help but immediately notice two of the posters on the wall were from movies released later. In the case of Easy Rider, about three years later.

Theater Spotlight of the Week: Raphael Parry

Attended the preview, and yes there were a few protesters. They should step inside. It is an eye opening experience regardless of your stance on abortion rights. Easily ranks as one of the best and most important productions of Raphael Parry's career. And anyone who knows about the history of Parry's work in Dallas since the mid-1980s will appreciate the value of that statement.

Echo Theatre reveals next production and reading series

Echo produced a wonderful reading of Last Train To Nibroc in October. The audience reception was excellent. I heard they were planning a full production, but the news of expanding it to the entire trilogy raises the level of anticipation. I'll buy festival passes.

Zombie Dearest or The Caper of the Living Dead

Unless the kids cannot wait, pass on this melodrama. Not as engaging as most others I have seen at the Pocket.

    A Skull in Connemara

If The Pillowman seemed far too dark for you, don't give up on McDonagh until giving this Second Thought production a chance.

    Trysts in Toledo

Look no further if seeking a non-holiday themed show that will, nevertheless, bring joy to the season. Truly a fun show to watch. Features some of the area's best talent, including several actors known for recent dramatic roles reminding us of their ability to shine in comedic roles.

Theater review part deux: The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?

The performances of both Worman and Hess certainly stand out. In fact, Worman's raises the level of this show to must-see. Much credit to Albee for packing so much into a 90-minute show. Far from a stereotypical conflicted marriage play.

Theater Spotlight of the Week: Bruce DuBose

Classic Undermain. The flowing language and movement delivered by a superb cast. Theatre regulars will recognize all the actors from previous Undermain shows, Shakespeare Dallas, Kitchen Dog, FIT, etc. Saw a preview and plan to experience it again.
