Precisely!! Try quiet live theater sometime. I call it "Blockbuster Syndrome." I swear, you expect people to just walk over to the fridge in the middle of a scene.

Performing arts courtesy has died an unbelievably rapid and excruciating death.

But inflicting humiliation on yankees, precisely damned one, is not just moral, it's imperative.

there's no right to having that opinion be treated as sacrosanct and unmockable.

Man, roll the National Anthem and pan to a jet fighter overhead.... never were truer words spoken.

Yep - it has been tough watching that thing decimated. I thought they finally razed it completely a couple weeks ago, but I am probably not remembering correctly.

They should keep their clientele even if it takes a few more months. It was a character of a place.... if only that Steeler/Etc fans like Mezz could feel relatively safe there.

Tell you what. I really have come to sympathize with you. Try some of these. http://www.pangloss.com/seidel/Shaker/

That should keep your cut and paste busy for days.
Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V Windows / Command+C, Command+V Mac are the handy shortcuts so your mouse finger doesn't wear out as fast.

This has nothing to do with your original posit (implicit though it was) that anyone not aware of or defending this terrible thing that the original author is allegedly charged with was likely complicit, inherently evil, or likely corrupt as opposed to simply uninformed. Remember? This was about some blog post bringing up the situational irony of a minor celebrity, apparently known for a catch phrase or habitual aspersion of "fraud" may actually have unwittingly slipped into a state of genuine hypocrisy.

I only entered the discussion when people whose work I appreciate and from which I find I benefit, were directly attacked for not agreeing immediately with a rather inappropriate and highly accusative criticism.

We could discuss the psychological ramifications, perhaps that guilt so haunts this celebrity as to keep the kind of transgression front of mind even decades later. We could appreciate the general comedy of youthful indiscretions and thank our stars we haven't been "lucky" enough to gain national notoriety that might merit our own chagrin for similar, likely forgotten, missteps. We might even discuss the validity of THIS MUCH DISCUSSION over a bloody reality TV show.

But no. We'll sit and shout "poopoo-head" at each other until your keyboard wears out or your next-door neighbor changes his WAP Key.

The life of a dog IS worth more than any man.

Something tells me you need to find a way to meet better men.

This world is more concerned about a dog than an human

If you were driving down the road and some situation forced you to choose between swerving one way and hitting a dog or swerving the other and hitting a human, you would have my complete blessing in sparing the human. Complete.

But if you hopped a curb, knocked over a couple of trash cans and revved down an alley to chase the dog down, you'd have a closer analogy to the alleged situation.

Now whether he was goaded into it by conspirators is the only mitigating element. Shy of that, such behavior is exactly what we have laws to protect us from.

On another interesting front, turning yourself in when there is already a warrant is in NO WAY a confession. This might be seen as a point of good character in most communities. In most places a fugitive state is more attributable to guilt than a compliant cooperation.

I just wish they'd get to the bottom of this one.

I don't have time to study people's blog comments and find ways to critique them all day.

    Then don't.

"Well, had they up and announced "The New Facebook Park" we'd be in the same boat, prolly."

Take your own advice and use pell check! Yet another hypocrit amongst us. :/

For those among us keeping score at home, this is from a thread last week here where apparently someone DID make time to hash through someone else's old posts. MiaSkiRacer is a new user, so all her comments are right here... bashing somebody. Makes it kinda shooting fish in a barrel.

Let's drag this through a tad of perspective:
You created an account on a conversation site to attack someone for criticizing the arbitrary accusation of people using public record data to incriminate people, by using public record data to incriminate the authors. Perhaps, I misread infoXYZ's purpose and process, but then you immediately adopt the same.

I can only assume your silly ramblings about marijuana and suspended licenses were either a search attempt to smear Patterson or myself. For fun, these are your odds of finding me

SMU athletics budget deficit continues to grow

not only crass, but ironic that Townsend has such negative words toward the athletic department.

The entire idea of an entertainment industry subsidized by tuition, and in the case of state institutions, public funding, is disgraceful.

“It costs money to do business, that’s the bottom line. You can’t make money if you don’t put money in,” he said.

So it's a profit deal. Stop pretending it has anything to do with schools, students, or academics and get on with it. Split off the sports franchises and let them openly compete in free market. See how that goes.

The deficit is equal to almost half of all tuition and fees paid by students in the 2011 to 2012 school year.

As you pay pretty pricey admission to this "school" - finding out it's just going to entertainment events and not to your ostensible reason for being there unless, of course, you are a paid professional athlete... er... athletics student, has got to be a cold slap in the face.

An unintentional bonus of this little project was some research on the actor, Jonathan Goldstein. Seems like a really nice "real world" actor -- kinda a Harrison Ford without the early career "big break"

I'm often told I make no sense. It's usually by rambling muckrakers, but that may or may not be the case.

The story is indeed about hypocrisy. You have a minor celebrity whose current claim to fame is accusing people of fraud, with indeed a documented conviction of... well... fraud. "She was a kid. It was youthful indiscretion. Adjusted for modern value dollars it's trivial." Um, Faking a signature was always pretty much a known illegal thing. Duh. Fraud. Not much high ground to gain or lose.

Ok, definitely worth a guilty schadenfreude giggle, fleeting and inconsequential, but a distraction. Done.

And the accusation above by anonymous infoXYZX was malicious and attempts to tar the staff member and the author - with absolutely no offered documentation.

The article is journalism... not of the highest stripe, as it is discussing some amazingly trivial gossip about a flimsy entertainment based entirely upon insignificant gossip, contention, and fabrication, but with journalistic underpinning of research. No, I won't be tuning in to watch so-and-so backstab so-and-so. I'm busy that day.

"Ooooh, I'll use PublicRecord.com or ArrestWarrantRecords.com and search for a name that can readily be shown belongs to dozens of people. Then I'll post it as fact. Then I'll attribute an article I don't like to them and 'presto' I'm a journalist." My assumption is they didn't find anything interesting on any "Alex Bentley" or they'd have shared that with us, too.

    And to your direct point:
The author never claims to be anything. She only reports the ironic, and one might say iconic, disconnect between a celebrity, their actions, and their words. You see, to be a hypocrite*, you must say one thing and do another.

    * Ya see, if you called someone out for not backing up accusations with facts, accuse them of something and then offer no documentation on that accusation, THAT would be hypocrisy. ...Kinda like thinking you're funny, but having to explain the entire joke.
