Eight-track exhibit at Barry Whistler Gallery in Deep Ellum plays well with music lovers
Re: VU + Nico 8 track...I actually have one, and it shows the back of the LP cover (the live band shot), and it has the UNAIRBRUSHED photo of Eric Emerson. Also, scored Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music on 8 track as well. My favorite item is John and Yoko's Two Virgins, complete with the all nude cover.

New barbecue place, Luckie's Smokehouse, opens on west side of Oak Cliff in Dallas
As a native Oak Cliffian, glad I don't have to cross the river for some great food.

Chef Point Cafe in Watauga basks in sweet aftermath of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives appearance
I'm ready for that chicken, and the smashers are lookin' pretty good, too! Nice, balanced review (as I've come to expect from TG) which can hopefully help the owners tweak the ambience to ensure a steady flow of customers which is no small order these days.

Concert Review: New York Dolls at House of Blues in Dallas (Wednesday June 3)
Yeah...the NY Dolls in Dallas in 1973 was as much a sight to behold as seeing Andy Warhol when he appeared at SMU in March, 1972. And check out today's Sonic Youth release The Eternal--inside is a picture of Johnny Thunders! (And who could forget the Dolls "covers" 45 that SY released only through SASSY magazine! NY Dolls will rock til David and Syl are dead.

At-Home Dinner of a Food Writer (with photos)
Rye toast is a pretty decent meal, but I would have used salted butter. (Having actually shared a meal when TG lived in Boston, I bet she snuck some ice cream later that evening...)

Dallas mayor’s church of choice causing flap in LGBT circles
Sorry Colleen, that's not much of a substantial argument. You're still a lobbyist- trying to sway a politician to lean your way for politic
