Farmers Branch Hispanic activist rejected by Rotary Club
Dear Tejun, I am simply tired of the two faced lies such as this ordinance always disguised as noble truths espoused by the radical right over the years. In my youth, there was a position taken by many called "State's Rights". It said that states could refuse to obey Federal orders to desegregate. By never saying we hate other races, they could calmly advocate a position that was in line with peers who advocated segregation who would not overtly express those views. The same thing is being done by these ordinances. By passing such laws, they make every person who is of another race suspect. If a person cannot speak English, they are assumed to be an illegal. The other fact here is that entry level jobs that so many immigrants, both legal and illegal take is in the landscape and agricultural industry. We are already seeing a problem with agriculture in areas of the country where crackdowns are in effect. Fewer people are showing up for these jobs. Many crops are now going unharvested for the lack of workers. This is sad, because so much of our economy has been built on illegal workers for so many years. (It didn't happen overnight!) Maybe if the neocons would adopt a simple pragmatic approach like they usually do to financial and economic problems, they would see this is the only viable solution to the deficits in the work force. I am not stereotyping any race as a group of "yard mowers", as Diego Rivera and Freida K. were as far from that as a human could be. I was simply talking about the realities of life in the USA. I would refer you to Tom Russel's song from his newest album on the same subject. And the city ordinance the city fathers have tried to pass is still inexcusably stupid. And I have the highest respect for Ms. Villafranca. And you are right, we did steal the land, I moved to Southwest Texas to try to pay back that debt by providing health care to those descendents who have never been able to "share the wealth". And that's a fact. We are all suffering as a result of Western greed. Dr. J.P. Schwartz

Somebody's TV station ran a graphic report on dog fighting last night
The dog story is one reason why I don't ever watch TV anymore. Not even PBS. I want to control what I watch completely. No one else has the right to do that for me. Ever. JP Schwartz

Farmer's Branch needs to change it's name to Ku Klux Klansville. What a stupid bunch of uptight white fundamentalist bigots. Who will do your lawns now you bunch of rubes? I am proud to say I never knew any of you. I have gone South to the border to provide medical care to the likes of people you are trying to self righteously kick out of your neighborhoods you sick bunch of neoNazis. Dr John Paul Schwartz
