This is an utterly ignorant statement.

No one is asking these teachers to carry a gun against their will and then go hunt down a madman who is roaming their schools. I agree this is a stupid concept.

What is being proposed is that folks who ALREADY have licenses to carry and willingly choose a gun on their person to any OTHER place it is legal to, be legally allowed to carry in a school. So that they may defend themselves if confronted with a deadly threat, and by proxy, the students they teach.

At this point, the only option they have to stop a threat like this is to step in front of the shooter and absorb bullets. Then the threat moves on to slaughter others.
