Just like I've had bad tex-mex in Dallas, I've had bad cheesesteaks in Philly.

The notion that LHO acted alone is every bit as farfetched as any conspiracy theory. Al that we do know is that JFK was shot in broad daylight, downtown in a major city, with thousands watching and we still aren't sure exactly what happened.

I live in Plano and I've passed this place several times. My general rule of thumb for a barbecue joint is that the smell of smoked meat must drive you inside. I don't get that from Ricky Rays but there may be a city or neighborhood ordinances that put a stop to that. Based on the story, I'll give it a try.

The end of an era. Many good memories of going to see Rev. Horton Heat or the Potatoes for free in the years before I got married and had kids. All things must pass.

I didn't do it, but wish I did. I'm sure the PISD is careful about not offending any aerial tourists.

Is there a schedule of when the bands perform?

In 84, the Dead Kennedy's played a free show outside the RNC in Dallas. They too railed against the 2 party system. Lot of good the ranting of an alternative rock band does. It's very convenient for either of the major parties, to dis a single opponent than to actually say what they stand for. It's in their interest not to allow the voters more choices than us or them.

What's so bad about East Plano? If Plano has any "soul" it resides in the older East Plano. Apparently, soul takes time to mature. Homes need to be re-sold several times and commercial space need to be on their 3rd or 4th different business venture to have any soul. The brand new west side Plano is completely void of soul.
And about Murphy, it should be a nice town when they finish building it. Check back in ten years

You missed part of the charm of downtown Arlington. That's all of the small bars along Division Street. I've dropped in on a handful of these and my first impression is, "Who would go here?" But you will find that most have a group of regulars of 8-10 people. Kind of like the TV show Cheers.
They don't have liquor stores in Arlington, but you can go about anywhere and get liquor by the drink. That's one key thing that separates Arlington from the rest of the DFW suburbs.
