Stopped in for a few beers last Saturday and this place was dead (hence my desire to post a rave here). But the beer selection was great the bar snacks that we ordered from the kitchen were great. I stayed and had a good time with a few friends. One of my biggest peeves about travelling downtown for entertainment is the parking, but the Rembrandt has that solved.
One thing, if your idea of good beer is Miller or Bud light, then stay away from here. If you like top shelf european beers your in heaven.

Like others, I have made many late night stops here after leaving Deep Ellum to get some food in my gut and hopefully survive and shorten the next days hangover.

Great gumbo and the best Muffaletas around. Their fried seafood is as good as others around but their french fries are a cut above. My favorite there is a softshell crab poboy that is usually on the special board.

When I have friends visiting from out of town and they tell me that they want Tex-Mex and it better be good, Matt's is always at the top of my list. Their Chile Relleno is the best around.

This place does chicken 'Right'. Service is sometimes slow and it helps to hablo espanol. The grilled chicken is wonderfully marinated and grilled long enough to where the bones are nearly crispy, yet the meat is not dry. They got a great selection of homemade salsas which are all tasty. Just typing this up makes me want to stop by right now and have a snack.

This place is a unique dining experience, but I can't say that I really liked the food. It's definitely worth going to once, but I don't think I will go back.

This place lost lots of it's funky vibe when it moved next door to a bigger space. But still this is some of the best Tex-mex around. There are lots more dishes at the new place though. They have a side-door for simple takeout options and they sell their homemade tortillas to take home. This is the best place in Collin County to get tamales for the holidays

Troutfishing, don't expect good NY pizza in Texas and I don't expect good Tex-mex in New York.

I agree with a previous post, the people here are nice. I've tried it about four times hoping I'll catch the right restaurant magic here and everytime I left underwhelmed. I'm glad some people like it and a great restaurant space doesn't turn vacant. It didn't do anything for me. My biggest peeve was too thin salsa.

The Magnetic Fields Quartet led by songwriter Stephen Merritt is resolutely "indie" so how come their music has been used in a Volvo commercial and appeared in the film Lemony Snicket? More info

Before I got married, I lived in East Dallas and this was one of my favorite places. Now I go once a year. After running the Turkey Trot, I head over cause they're open on thanksgiving. My family can't wait to scarf down a few dozen tamales before starting on the turkey. Their new location is easier to get in and out of.
