Dallas/Fort Worth Indie Pop/Rock Band Receives Placement In Top Rated MTV Reality Show The Bright’s Single “Cemetery Street” Featured in MTV Reality Show “The Hills” November 24th

Arlington, TX – November 25th, 2008 – The indie pop/rock band The Bright has recently been featured in season 4, episode 16 of the popular MTV reality show The Hills on Monday, November 24th 2008. Song placement included the single “Cemetery Street” from their self-released full-length album “In Lucid Dreams” which was recorded at the Dallas studio Bass Propulsion Laboratories (owned by local hit makers Todd and Toby Pipes of Deep Blue Something) and produced by local producer Eric Jenkins. Additionally, the music has been so well received by MTV the entire album has been licensed for placement in future programming. The venture into song placement in mainstream and alternative media is not a new course of action for The Bright. The band was recently commissioned to compose the titletrack song for the video game “Severity”, produced by Dallas based Escalation Studios and the Cyberathlete Professional League. The game is due out sometime in late 2009 / early 2010 and the song “Severity” is included on their current release. The Bright is also in discussions with a Hollywood production company to compose a theme song for a feature film. “In the state of the music industry today a band has to operate like a business”, states lead vocalist and former TCU opera major Julie Lange, “we are the type of band that thrives on performing live, but there’s no middle class in rock and roll, even bands signed by major labels can live at the poverty level. That’s why we have sought out other means of building a career and value to our music.” The band will also be the headlining act at the 2008 NCAA Men’s College Cup National Soccer Championship at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, TX at 3pm on December 12.
