I remember going to CD World as a kid from the 'burbs and feeling like I found another universe.
On the flip side, I've been enjoying the shows Granada has been able to book recently. The Black Keys were good, Malkmus was great, and I'm super pumped about the upcoming Digable Planets show.

Other possible Assets of the new location:
1) Employees will be allowed to have their souls back once they leave far north Dallas
2) close proximity to excellent shaved ice in Doc's Food Store at Meadow & 75
3) close proximity to two hospitals = guaranteed nurses in the lunch crowd
4) Henry Moss natural area is a great place to hide bodies
5) Nearby White Rock Creek offers snorkeling opportunities (seriously, I have seen people snorkeling in White Rock Creek near this location)
6) Near the best nursery in town, Northhaven Gardens
7) Nearby massage parlor makes decisions about where to go for lunch very easy.

That's strange. SMU always struck me as a bastion of acceptance and free thinking.

I think these bar closings are the result of a shift in consumer preference. Greenville Ave has been on the decline as Uptown and Henderson Ave have become increasingly popular. In fact, back in the 'glass eyed bandit' days was the last time I remember going out with friends on Greenville Ave.

I bet the city council was thinking the same thing (about market penetration) when they set up the 'Rename Industrial' poll.

How fitting that the Adventure Club is returning on Independence Day weekend. Josh's show is an island of independent music and independent thinking in a musical landscape normally void of both.
I know what my fireworks will be celebrating this 4th!!
On The Adventure Club with Josh returns to 102.1 The Edge this Sunday
