Statue of Lance Armstrong to be burned in England this weekend
Excellent choice. The next three runners-up should be Jerry Sandusky, Casey Anthony and Joran van der Sloot.

Whole Foods Market takes first pre-emptive strike at Trader Joe's
I'm so excited about Trader Joe's I almost can't sleep and even started writing out my first grocery list. They're better than any supermarket and far more affordable than Whole Foods. TJs sells fresh Kosher chicken, ground meat, fabulous frozen foods, and they've got the best (and leat expensive) dairy products anywhere. I want them to open a store across the street from my house.

He shouldn't run for GOVERNOR again, either.

Restaurant review: Oak in Dallas
I dunno. I think I'd rather have a decent chicken pot pie and a diet Coke.

Top Chef Texas episode 16: Fire & Ice finale
This season has been so contrived and boring I'm not sure I'll bother watching when it ends. I'm sick of the ridiculous product placements and chefs with no talent. I've watched every episode and don't care who wins.

Dallas restaurants and bars that are open on Christmas Day 2011
We're hoping for dim sum today, maybe Hong Kong Royal in Carrollton ... if they're open!

Top Chef Texas episode 8: Do not mess with Beverly
That's the newest problem with Top Chef ... it's one gigantic (boring) commercial, starting with those annoying Toyota Sienas! In addition, Padma has no personality whatsoever, Tom always looks like he needs to take a dump and the guest judges are putting me to sleep. The cheftestants don't seem very talented, either. In previous seasons there were always a few real stars and standouts ... this year, not so much. I thought Top Chef in Texas would be fun. So far it's a snoozer.

Affordable home of the week: 3509 Kingsbridge Drive in Plano
I have ZERO interest in moving to Plano. I've got a gorgeous 5-year-old home in Mesquite (one block from ranch country in Sunnyvale) with a 24' x 18' master bedroom and we paid a whole lot less than that 25-year-old house in your article!

Next year I think somebody should sell Fried Lipitor and Fried Insulin for the geriatric set (like me).

5 chain restaurant meals that will make you get off your high horse
P.F. Chang is a little overpriced for the quality of the food; I prefer Pei Wei and have always had a good meal there. Love their Kung Pao Chicken and Pad Thai.

Trader Joe's eyes Knox-Henderson for Dallas location
When I lived in California there were three TraderJoe's within 15 minutes of my house and I could stop in almost every day if I needed something. Too bad TJ's is only looking at typical Dallas locations, like Knox-Henderson and Plano. What about the rest of us? Just once I'd love to see something new in Rockwall.

Cici's serving a Philly Cheesesteak Pizza
I think Cici's has the worst food on the planet outside of your average middle-school cafeteria. They even serve a macaroni and cheese pizza. Gag.

UPDATEDx4 with photos: Opening day at In-N-Out Burgers in Frisco is a zoo
I lived in California for 15 years and thought In-N-Out was just average. Frankly, I think Five Guys has a much better burger!

Freddy’s Frozen Custard
I asked what a Steakburger is and the friendly staff stated "it is a very high grade of lean beef that is hand-crafted" thin on the edges and thicker in the middle. This makes for carmelization on the edges and a juicy center. The Hawaiian is a must eat on the custard menu. I will definitely be bringing my friends!
