We've got a photo of the State Fair of Texas fried butter right here
Yes, the butter was not to die for... not even gross or anything. In fact, it was more of a fried biscuit than butter. I at least expecting a little oozing. Nada.

Dallas frozen yogurt meltdown: Yogurt By Me near Galleria Dallas
I think frozen yogurt is only OK. So, I'm amazed by how many of these places are popping up everywhere. Does everyone want frozen yogurt but me?

Eight finalists for best fried food of 2009 State Fair of Texas includes -- fried butter
We always go on the first day. The grease is clean and the employees haven't learned to hate the public yet. Now about that fried butter... (shudder) I just don't think I can do it.

Actually, Smoked Bob is made with queso and smoked meats. Bob Armstrong is taco meat, quacamole & sour cream at the bottom of a bowl of queso. His best book, by far, is the newest, "Matt Martinez, Mex Tex, Traditional Tex-Mex Cooking". I bought my copy on Amazon. But, I believe it's available at the Lakewood restaurant.
I am so sad that Matt is gone. He defined TexMex for me. It's hard to describe how much of a fixture he was here in East Dallas. Such a sweetheart. And now he's gone.
I prepare his recipes at home. But, I think it's really important that we continue to support his restaurants. His family deserves our support.

Restaurant Review: Cowboy Chow
I'm curious about this place because I love Twisted Root. But, it's too bad they don't have a bar. No self-respectin' cowboy would eat brisket without a beer.

New product Wednesday, at Dallas-area stores: Emerald Cocoa Roast Almonds
Somehow I don't see myself driving home sucking down chocolate-y almonds.

Dallas' Restaurant Week: Beneficial or beastly?
I kind of think we can't expect any restaurant to spend the extra bucks on ingredients when they're charging so little. I was at the Mansion last night and didn't get out of there for less than $200. But, I ordered what I wanted and had a terrific experience. Part of the fun is seeing what a great chef can do with a piece of pork loin or salmon. You've piqued my interest about Chamberlain's though!

Well, the people at North Texas Food Bank must see it as beneficial. It's a very generous donation from the cost of each meal. Surely, no one has any complaints about that.
