    Theater Review: Altar Boyz

I'm so glad you agree that the show is spectacular! I saw it four times in Austin last week and it just kept getting better and better!

UPDATED: New Interview: Matthew Buckner from Altar Boyz

First off, I want to point out that while it is true that most of us are posting because we're Altarholics and we get points, we wouldn't be members of the website and willing to do things for points if we didn't think the show was fantastic, though I can see your point, Mr. Orren. I think the show is enhanced if you're a Catholic or someone at least somewhat familiar with Catholic practices because most of the jokes are based on this. However, even if you're not, you'll still catch the humor. The cast are playing members of a Catholic boy band named Matthew (the leader), Mark (the "Sensitive one), Luke (the thug), Juan (the ethnic appeal) and Abraham (who's Jewish). Through the course of the show, which is said to be the last concert of their Raise the Praise tour, you learn a lot about their characters in the midst of 12 incredibly fun to sing along with songs. My favorites are Epiphany by Mark, which isn't what you might think, and I Believe, a beautiful heart warming song at the end. I've seen five performances of this show and have never seen someone after the show who didn't seem to have enjoyed it. And as a great plus, the boyz do a lot of singing and dancing and they're rather pleasant to look at. :) They're also great guys themselves, as I had the pleasure of meeting them in Austin. Please, go see it! You won't regret it!

Altar Boyz is absolutely amazing! It's hilarious but with a good heart-warming message. I definitely recommend that everyone go see it... and bring your friends!
