Well, littlekinder, that's the problem with using the grounds of health care cost to society as justification for these smoking bans.
Some of us (and I'm a nonsmoker, although my husband enjoys the occasional cigar) believe that it should be sufficient to have notification on the door: "This is a smoking permitted facility" or "This is a nonsmoking facility." I'm speaking, of course, relative to privately owned establishments such as bars, restaurants, pool halls, etc. Then the adult patron himself can choose his acceptable level of risk vs. his desire to patronize that particular establishment.

It's back, Collin. I think they take it off air periodically to clean the cage or whatever. At this moment there's a puppy riot going on in the foreground while one puppy carefully places a poo in the space between the housebreaking pads.

That's a Japanese breed so they'd have ninja weapons.

There's some man playing with the puppies, talking baby talk and barking at them.
Ha ha! One just bit him! He yelled, "Ow! Sharp teeth!" Good dog!

I'd say "less likely to end up an organ donor" Pavel. But that has more to do with the lunatics in SUV's than anything else.
I've nearly hit bicyclists on more than one occasion, though. My husband and daughter both ride so I tend to be more aware of the bicyclists than most drivers. But I don't know why some of them think it's wise, for example, to pass cars on the right shoulder at intersections.

AT: Are you talking about the Leonards subway? Yeah, that went away a few years ago when Radio Shack decided to expand. Most of us were sad to see it go. Fun memories riding the little subway to Leonard's basement with my grandmother, then buying slushies and looking at the big tables of baby turtles that were always near the doorway.

Somehow the street cars and bicyclists seem to coexist in Germany. The cars run down the middle of the street in high traffic pedestrian areas, and you just have to pay attention to where you are going and give them right of way.
I'm excited about the potential of having a convenient street car system like we enjoyed in Germany.

Ugh. Wendy Davis. This was a race that I really, truly, did not care about because both candidates are goobers. But for the past week or so, Davis has been spamming my landline several times every day and interfering with the peace in my home. I was about ready to gather up a posse to tp her house.

The incident which sparked the confrontation was the little snot bullying another child on the bus. And now his parents seem to be more upset about his "humiliation" than the spanking itself. Not one word of concern expressed for her brat's victim and his or her humiliation.
I think the kid is lying about the choking. The spanking? She turned him over her knee and gave him a few open handed swats on the seat of the jeans. If he was "humiliated" then good! That bus driver is a hero in my view.
