Texas Giant to have steepest drop In The World after renovations. The drop will be 79 degrees and the carts will be flying at 65 mph.

The NBC article didn't mention that this is the record for steepest drop on a wooden coaster. There is a steel coaster in Indiana that has a 111 degree drop.

Main Street Garden in Dallas lacks cohesion

I browsed through this guy's website, and the impression I got is he wants to leave. He has a feature called "cities where I'd rather live" and each entry has lots of pretty pictures of those cities.

If you'd rather live there Mr. Kennedy what is stopping you from going?

Restaurant review: Mason's Chicken N Seafood in Grand Prairie

That photo of the chicken fried steak looks like its a pre-frozen factory patty. Considering the price it probably is.

NorthPark shut down part of mall during Xmas shopping for Jonas Brothers

What a bunch of divas. These stupid kids love the image of being chased down by teenage girls in their videos and on TV so its their own fault that they can't go out in public like normal people now.

Oh and blame also goes to the numbskull kids who would presumably be so overcome by the presence of the Jonas Bros. that they'd cause chaos and mass fainting.

This stuff is so frickin retarded and a waste of our tax dollars to pay cops to babysit these punks. Wear some disguises next time and mingle with the rest of the peons.

I hope they reimbursed the shops.

dmacfar139, you're apparently a passive-aggressive type who likes to take sarcastic swipes on the Internet. weak.

    Osaka Sushi (Closed)

Witholding my ratings because I ate here a long time ago when I first moved to the area and I didn't think it was any good. Large variety of stuff though.

The strange thing is several relatives have asked to eat here when they pass through and I've always said no. All of them have heard independently that they should eat here from other classmates of theirs and friends in Dallas. They were all college kids on a budget so when they want sushi they go for the value and pig out on it rather than sit at a sushi bar, even if the quality is not as good. So I guess this place gets good word of mouth.

Anyway I promised to go with one of my cousins next time he comes through and will give ratings then. Also they seem to frequently have a D rating on the Plano health inspections report.

Yeah I like this hippie dive better than I like Jasper's. What is your issue with my opinion? Who made you the judge of what restaurant should get what review?

UPDATED: New steakhouse with purported Peter Luger connection opening in North Dallas

I hope he does well. If he can hook up a steak anywhere near the quality of Peter Luger's we're in for a treat.

I was under the impression that Ichijo had closed or been renamed. Can anyone confirm?

Dallas High Five named one of world's strangest roads

Agree going from 635 to 75 can be unnecessarily horrendous (especially if there is an accident which is seemingly every afternoon rush hour for whatever reason) but the high five as a segment wouldn't top that list for me. I used to drive on the Cross Bronx Expressway about the same distance can take 45 minutes easily with no hope of escape due to the confusing and small roads around it. I'll take the high five over that any day.

    Cocoberry

It's a winner overall. Kudos for the location choice, I like this little plaza. 6 flavors available at a low price. Pastry I tried from the case was a little stale, but they gladly gave me another choice at no charge, so they definitely care about making customers happy.

Mattel has set up a temporary toy outlet in Richardson

Buyer beware and do research before you go. A lot of the items in the store are being sold at list price, significantly higher than you could pay online or at other retailers.

    Gator's Croc & Roc

No rating for the food since I didn't eat. I came for the live music and to enjoy the rooftop which I believe is unique to the West End. Will update if I eat next time.
