The Fish
I went to the Fish for the first time last night. The decor was amazing and fresh looking. They have a center room that looks like it would be perfect for private parties or corporate functions. I walked in the restroom and was amazed. Its probably the nicest in Dallas. The food was good and arrived quickly. You could tell the rolls were freshly made. The wine was reasonably priced and the bartenders and greeters were extremely nice. I will be back for another happy hour, no doubt.

Tom Tom Asian Grill and Sushi Bar
Great sushi bar. Sitting right in the trendy West Village. The patio is nice and airy. The service is very friendly and the food is good. The menu is large and offers many options. We got a bottle of wine and a tray of sushi for under $50 bucks!

Tei Tei Robata Bar
Great place for cooked and uncooked fish! The grade of meat used is great. I trust every dish on the menu is in classic form. The presentation of the sushi plates beats most other sushi restaurants. Long waits and small areas make the restaurant a little stuffy. But more reason to sit at the bar and order a few while you wait.

The Porch
I love this relatively new addition to the Knox Henderson area. The menu is average with a twist. The mac and cheese is creating a buzz all around Dallas. Its like down home comfort food, but with Uptown flavor. Go after work and you can barely hear yourself think. Escape to the patio to relax and eat great food. Last time I was there, I spotted Troy Aikman eating with his wife. Good times!

Texas Roadhouse
Besides the obvious high end steak places, this is the best steak i've had in Dallas in a long time. I love to be there with my bucket of nuts and $2 margaritas, enjoying the TX feel. The Ft. Worth Sirloin was cooked just the way I liked and the bread is slightly sweet and great. You can get a baked sweet potato on the side and its goes great with the meat. I wish they would open more of these around the metroplex.

Great authentic Indian cuisine. The family style portions are great for sharing. I think they will soon start BYOB so thats a plus. The masalas and spices that I had on my visit were well used on the dishes. The naan is fresh and comes with every entree. Great indian food!

Masala Wok
Great take on modern indian food. The Chicken Biryani is great and they don't over grease the food like some indian restaurants. The atmosphere is nice, clean, and relaxed. Very close to being authentic. Big portions are good for sharing.

Iron Cactus
Iron Cactus is one my favorite restaurants in Dallas. I believe it was born in Austin, like Chuy's was, and has made a name for itself in the heart of downtown. The food is typical but great and inexpensive. The bars are aplenty and the location is devine. I've been to Iron Cactus at least 10 times within the last 12 months and have yet to sit in every dining room. There are options for all tastes and balconies with great views for days. Every time I have guests come in from out of town, I take them to Iron Cactus for a little piece of Dallas.

Kalachandji's Palace & Restaurant
Its nice to see a place like this survive in Dallas. Though it could be vulnerable to political and religious satire, I love that it is widely accepted and cherished. The idea of the kitchen attached to the temple is a great way to think outside the box. Churches are always asking for money for this building fund and that social gathering. I'm more likely to give my money to someone who doesn't blatently ask for it. Its like a religious bake sale with earthly foods. Yes, the vegan Menu is great, eat as much as you want, and maybe even sit in the prayer hall for some worship on your way in or on your way out. I'm not sure what the custom is...

Cindi's N.Y. Delicatessen Restaurant And Bakery
Great Deli food. The menu is huge and I could stare at it for hours. The service is fast and friendly. We had the latkes, a bagel, and lox. The lox was fresh and the latkes were authentic. I've also had the reuben sandwich. It was huge and I could eat it for 2 meals. Also stop in for desserts or breakfast. The owner is almost always there and she's right at the front with a smile. I love that about this place. It always packed after church so get there early!

Plucker's Wing Factory and Grill
I love the wings at this place. Its a true college hangout. The decor is very inviting, the wings are cheap, and the happy hour shots are a great accompyment to the food. I think the wings are less greasy that wing stop and great flavors.

John Carter's Place
When I was at UTA, we would visit John Carter's every Sunday. It a local legend type of restaurant. The sweet tea is classic and I love being able to order 3 veggies with my meat. Your plate is brought to the table full to the brim and the mix of rolls and corn bread serves as a perfect appetizer.

Cooppie's
ok. Yes, they changed the menu. I also was there on the first day of the changed. I'll never forget it. Dec 12th. It was the day after my birthday and I had a terrible hangover. Despite the change, Coopies is still a great restaurant. The service was friendly and no-fuss. The real Mac and cheese must come back. No self respecting southerner would accept penne and powder cheese. I realize we are in a recession, but stick to the basics and you'll be fine! I ordered the skillet corn bread and it was right on the money. I think i ate the entire thing by myself. The fried chicken was meaty and flavorful. I will go back to Coopies. I hope you guys can get the issues taken care of and stay open for good!

eatZi's
Great for the personalized salads. I skip the meat on the salad because it makes it come to $9! The presentation of the food and the free samples are worth a trip to uptown. I honestly wish there were more locations. Anything from dessert, custom sandwiches, or meat hot off the grill is really tasty. Stop by for breakfast if you can. The breakfast burritos and migas are fresh and delicious.

BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse
If you love deep dish Pizza, go to BJ's. For a while, I got caught up in the flat bread, skinny people pizza. But once in a while you need a huge, doughy, cheesy slice of pizza and BJ's satifies that carb craving that I have. Their beer is great also.. made in house. Tues is pint night and you can get them for $2. The bar area is fun with lots of TV's and the eating area is nicely partitioned off from the bar for more privacy.

Highland Park Pharmacy
My first time at HPP was a memorable one. I have dreams about the grilled cheese. Eating at the counter reminds me of Happy Days or Grease. And in case you need any meds, just go to the Pharmacy in the back. They are sure to know you by name if you've been there enough times. Also, order a Bowl of Mix from the counter and you'll be delighted.

Buzzbrews Kitchen
Hmm... what can I say about this place that hasn't already been said about heaven... Amazing! its open 24-7 and the food is great. Can be compared to Cafe Brazil but better service and healthier options. The 'get it yourself' coffee is great. The flavors never let me down and its always hot and ready. Love this place any time of day.

Little Hunan
Little Hunan is one of those hole in the wall Chinese places that always impresses. Their food is fresh and the couple that owns it works hard to ensure great food. Its a place i go with my family a lot because they give big portions and we can share 2-3 dishes. The location is convenient and the egg rolls are rolled fresh daily.

Babe's Chicken Dinner House
Great home cooking food. They serve their meals family style if you prefer and they keep it coming. I didn't know it was BYOB, but i do now! The creamed corn was to die for and of course so was the chicken. I highly recommend it for family gatherings. There were lots of large parties when we went.
