I think the problem is that there are too many people at the lake, mostly because it's the only place a lot of people feel safe while riding. Katy Trail is nice but again there is limited riding space. We need more paved bike paths. However if you're willing to travel south of the Trinity, there are some great off-road trails for biking near Keist Park and Red Bird Airport (Dallas Executive), also a fairly new trail just west of Duncanville close to where I-20 and Spur 408 intersect. I also suggest Joe Pool Lake.

Scot, did you ever stop to think that if Dallas hadn't come first, and if the city leaders hadn't given their property to the railroads, and if they hadn't decided to build DFW and lure Fortune 500's, that Collin County wouldn't be as great as you think it is? If it wasn't for Dallas County, Collin County would still be some backwater, one horse, hick county. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Collin County owes everything it is to Dallas County.

"Plano subsidizes Dallas County schools to the tune of $87 million last year alone, for a total of $1.2 billion, because of Robin Hood. You are welcome."

Dallas ISD pays into Robin Hood too, but I suppose it's too much to ask that you get your facts straight. As we've already seen by the smack down girlabouttown delivered to your rant earlier on this thread you and the truth don't walk hand in hand all that often.

Plano voted itself into DART and has the option of leaving if they so desire, your gripe isn't with Dallas or any other member city but with the people that run the city you seem so proud of. You can move to another city that is not a member of DART such as Frisco, Allen or McKinney and remain in Collin County. Or perhaps you could put your money where your mouth is by starting a referendum to get Plano out of DART.

I actually agree with you that the use of city funds, however they were collected, for something like a Green Expo is questionable. Especially when you have other needs that might be deemed more urgent. However you bend facts, sometimes you're flat out wrong and you attack with the fervor or a hungry pittbull.

I used to vote Republican but it was those of your ilk that so disgusted me with their "my way or the highway" mantra that I find myself leaning more and more to the left. Your biggest problem is that you have no tact and drive away those who otherwise might agree with you in principle on some of the subjects you address.

I for one would like to thank Mr. Walker for bringing this to my attention. I am super excited about seeing Ed Begley Jr., and had it not been for Mr. Walker's missive I would have never known he was in town. As a citizen of Dallas County it's nice to see part of Collin County paying us back in some small way for the free medical care many Collin County citizens receive from Parkland and that I help subsidize with my tax dollars. Thank you Plano for doing your very small part.
