David, you had it right. The Wilshire was the one that ran The Exorcist. It was released about Xmas of '73 and I saw it on New Year's Eve. The Wilshire was on the SE corner of Mockingbird & Skillman. It had a big covered area at the front doors under its marquee. One afternoon a hailstorm hit unexpectedly and I drove my car right up to the doors to get out of the onslaught.
