Stephanie Byrd's review for:
Buli Cafe
This place has great food and a really nice, friendly atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you talk to the people at the tables around you.

Masaryk
I had the opposite experience of jordananica; we needed to get in and out fast (I know, it's a shame) because we had a play to go to afterwards, and the staff bent over backwards to serve us speedily. I know it was in their own best interests, but still it is not always the case that a restaurant will help you out when you are in a hurry. I was pleased. Besides, the food was very good and the margaritas were really fun.

Stephanie Byrd's review for:
Bliss Raw Cafe and Elixir Bar
Squeezed on an impossibly small triangle between the DART tracks and Greenville Avenue, on a dark evening during the Mid-September Monsoon of Aught Nine, this place had the atmosphere of an intergalactic outpost. The patrons, while not as diverse as those at Mos Eisley Spaceport, were still interesting. Service was helpful and efficient. The dishes we ordered (a tostada and a hummus wrap) were incredibly flavorful. The homemade tostada was substantial and satisfying. If you like all kinds of flavors at once, this is your kind of place. I prefer simpler stuff myself but still recognize the goodness. Although the chocolate beverage sounded tempting, I didn't want to pay $10 for a drink.

Lumi Empanada and Dumpling Kitchen
The spring rolls are delicious and refreshing. Even though they are listed as appetizers, they are a satisfying size. A great meal for a hot day.
I also enjoyed the boiled duck and leek dumplings. The Chinese five-spice sauce was much more interesting than other plum sauces I have had. The spiciness is not so much hot and peppery as savory and tasty. The portion is not so big on these, so if you are a big eater, you should order a couple of things.

Cibus Caffe & Ristorante
My friends and I had a really good time at Cibus's happy hour last week. With half price pizzas and wine, we each had two glasses of wine and half a pizza for about $10 each! The food was good, our waiter was excellent, and we loved the patio dining.

Highlands Cafe
My first time eating here was like going over to a friend's house for a meal. My veggie sandwich was delicious and perfect. My husband's salad looked very good and fresh. I was impressed with how thoroughly the staff washes the tables. Service was quick and friendly. There were all kinds of normal folks around, which made me feel happy. The art on the wall was interesting and pleasant.
If you are looking for trendy, fancy, rich and harmful food, maybe you will be disappointed like that poor unhappy person who posted the long comment three years ago. This food is delightful and homey and satisfying.

Panera's French baguettes are the best I have personally experienced in Dallas.
