Without a sense of community, you really have no idea who's living in your neighborhood anymore. Wonder if the neighbors had any clue what was going on before the raid?

Hear, hear Kay...from a parent's POV, I wouldn't allow my kids to go clubbing either. In my opinion, these parents that "allow" their kids to go are asking for trouble later on.

If I had a dime for every time I've wanted to go to CFA on a Sunday, I'd have enough money to buy a sandwich on a weekday ;)
They miss out on tons of money by not being open, but then again they MAKE TONS OF MONEY through the week, so I guess it really doesn't matter to them...

Antiques Roadshow - SOLD OUT
Wow...looks like KERA's pretty proud of themselves...hopefully whatever "treasure" the donater brings in is worth it, otherwise after chucking out 400 smackeroos, it would be a bummer to have someone tell you your family heirloom is a hunk of junk...
I don't watch it anymore either, but if I did I'd watch the the British version instead

A police officer shooting a SHARK in someone's backyard, now THAT would make a good story

Ditto...In My Not So Humble Opinion, the "H" stands for "humble" (no, not the Texas one)...not "honest"...

Tomatoes grown in Texas are not the culprit of salmonella outbreak
I think the tomato I bought from Central Market said it was from Mexico. Was a little suspicous at the time as I can't recall having seen Mexico as a source on my fruit/veggie stickies before.
juliekim...Thanks for the great info, I'll be sure to go back and look for Grower's area.

My opinion is people who stereotype animals...also stereotype people. As stated elsewhere, "judge the deed, not the breed."
Good game, Kay...I failed miserably, and I have owned a so-called "pit-bull" along with many Labs, a German Shepherd, Dachshunds, a Chihuahua and numerous cats. Some bought and paid for, some found. Each animal with different personalities, but all loveable.

Does the Farmer's Market actually have locally grown tomatoes and other produce at this time of year? I went during the winter months and got nothing different than what I could've gotten at the grocery store. I was very disappointed, to say the least. Even the local produce stands in my area carry the same items as the grocery stores. The only place I've found to find "homegrown" produce is Gnismer (?sp) Farms in Arlington. Anybody know of other local farmers?

Dallas County Health and Human Services investigating salmonella on raw tomatoes
Kay ~ I'm still wary of buying fresh spinach. Bought some yesterday (only a second time since the recall) to make a nice salad with the tomato. I guess growing your own is the way to go nowdays. I'm trying my hand at a mini garden with a few tomato plants and watermelons.

Bought one tomato yesterday at Central Market before I heard the news story. Wonder if they'll tell us who the suppliers are before it goes bad (the tomato, not Central Market).

New product Wednesday, at Dallas-area stores: Canada Dry Sparkling Green Tea Ginger Ale
Maybe they're hoping the "antioxidant power" will help offset their use of HFCS. I was actually going to buy some regular Ginger Ale recently and was hoping NOT to see HFCS in the ingredients, but alas, it was in there too. Ended up buying a bottle of seltzer and making my own fizzy drinks using fruit juices, etc.
Kudos for Haagen Dazs keeping it simple. The only other brand of ice cream that I've found with natural ingredients is Breyers Natural Vanilla.
