Whoops, forgot to do the ratings! The 4 for vibe is just because it's a little tiny restaurant that didn't put too much effort into decorating or anything fancy. But that's not what you go to a restaurant for, is it? You go for the food!

Ok, this restaurant is one of my very favorite places for Japanese food even though it's apparently owned and run by people from Taiwan. The best thing to get in my opinion is one of their Bento boxes (I don't know what the last guy was talking about, they are huge and I always leave this place stuffed to the gills!) which include whatever main dish you order plus several large pieces of the best tempura ever, a big sphere of sticky rice, 3 california rolls, and various sauces and pastes for seasoning your food. A random couple we shared our table with (they were really busy and they only had a huge table open so my 3-person group voluntarily shared it with them) both got sushi platters which looked really tasty and plentiful as well.
The only negative about this restaurant is the waitress that we got both times was surly and short with us. She did keep our drink glasses full, which redeemed her a bit in our minds.

Al Amir = hairy older persian/lebanese men who hit on underaged girls and don't take no for an answer (lol). Or at least it did about 5 years ago.
Other than that, it's actually a nice place with hookah, belly dancers, drinks, and lots of loud and fun-to-dance-to middle eastern club music.

OH MY GOD, I love this restaurant!! It's actually my #1 favorite restaurant in all of Dallas. They have a split menu - half traditional Persion and half Italian. It's an odd mix, but it works. However, I've never ordered anything but the koobideh (beef kebab) because it's just fantastic. It comes with a prodigious amount of perfectly prepared saffron rice and grilled tomatoes. And I always order hummus and pita as well as Persian tea for the drink - it's really unique. It's a bit pricey at around $20 per entree (lunch menu is cheaper), but you do get high quality food in large portions - plenty to stuff yourself sick on and still have tons to take home for lunch the next day.
Also, the belly dancer on the weekends is really talented and friendly. Make sure you tip her if you are enjoying her performance! I felt a bit odd stuffing cash down another women's clothes, but my Persian friends assured me that it's the custom and she really was doing a good job.

I've been several times for lunch buffet and it's always been fresh, cheap, and delicious. They serve traditional Persion food and it's never been bad. The restaurant is beautiful and it's a relaxing and quite place to have lunch.

Does anyone know why ABC closed? They were always packed and seemed to be doing really well. I really loved this place, they had the best fresh bread/pastries, chicken salad sandwiches, and baked potato soup ever - plus it had a nice atmosphere and wifi. I've gone to the Panera Bread in the new development east of 75 on campbell and I was so disappointed because it was mediocre at best. RIP ABC. :(
