Wow, thanks for the SPOILER Pegasus. I was going to watch this today.

Cities around Dallas are adding traffic "circles"
Where is there a roundabout in Richardson? The only one I know of that is even close to a roundabout is at American Pkwy and Presidential, but it's in the middle of a business park with no real traffic.

Checking out Russo's Coal-Fired Pizzeria, serious new pizza place in Richardson
@CitizenKane:
Thanks for the tip. Next time I'm craving pizza I'll look for a cheap flight and head to NYC for the night. Pfft...

Richardson City Council passes Neighborhood Development Overlay ordinance
This is a good thing. It will hopefully aid in avoiding situations like in the link, where a gigantic McMansion is next to a small cottage home...

Richardson councilmember Rhea Allison will not seek re-election
Andrew,
Will you be writing a summary of the meeting in regards to the Neighborhood Development Overlay? I wasn't able to attend.

Bushes to officially live in Preston Hollow in Dallas
There's talk of the S.S. gating off the entire cul-de-sac, effectively keeping the wacko's out.

TxDOT to re-stripe U.S. 75 at Live Oak on Sunday in Dallas
I thought the Live Oak exit had been closed for months now (the LEFT exit). Is that not the case?

Boudreaux's Cajun Kitchen opening in Richardson in September, Arlington in December
Twisted Root Burger is an exciting announcement. It's nice to see a locally owned restaurant going up, and even nicer to see restaurants that do NOT specialize in sandwiches, b/c that area west of 75 is Sandwich Shop Mecca.
Any news of other tenants at Eastside, non-food related? For some reason I can see a GAP going in there.

Richardson city officials biting off more projects than they can chew
This is my favorite sentence in this rambling, incoherent rant...
"When you consider the fact that the majority of Richardson residents rarely, if ever, use any of these amenities, it leaves taxpayers wondering why those who do don't pay full price."
Wow. Give this man a Pulitzer.

Heights Park space age playground in Richardson to become a memory soon
Who was it exactly that put up a stink in the first place? Local parents or the council itself?

Richardson City Council work session -- June 2, 2008
Is there any way to find out if/when they will be doing work on a specific street? In my neighborhood, they've been tearing up the streets and doing what looks like sewer pipe replacement, as well as sidewalk enhancements, over the past 2 years. Haven't got to mine yet, but it sure would be nice to have some new blacktop on the street, as ours is starting to crumble.

I drove by the fire last night, and it seemed like the flames were mostly coming from the kitchen area... obviously.

Are the new Central Expressway HOV entrance signs badly placed?
Martin,
I haven't tried this yet, but I believe if you are heading North on 75, exit Midpark and there should be an entrance soon thereafter to the HOV. It's been there this whole time but was always closed for obvious reasons.
Here's a picture of what I'm talking about. http://tinyurl.com/3bnoma

Richardson City Council rejects proposed development
Good move by the council to squash this plan. That area is already oversaturated, especially with traffic on Coit around rush hour which is nothing short of hellish. I, too, am very wary of high density housing that isn't near the rail line. Although I will admit that I am a bit bummed at the idea of a Pei Wei going away b/c of this decision. Hopefully we'll get one at the new Heights Shopping Center. : )
As far as executive sessions go, I disagree with this idea that the council wanted ES for the ability to conspire behind our backs. If they really wanted to do something of that nature, what's stopping them from speaking to each other over email or phone when not in an official council meeting?

Hamburger chain The Counter opens in Shops at Legacy in Plano
I ate at this place in Santa Monica a few months back. The burgers are pretty good. I concocted a southwestern style burger with no bun, so it was kind of a burger salad and was quite tasty. But as mentioned in the article, usually a burger tastes like a burger. The place was packed though and featured in the Southwest Airlines magazine on the plane, so business was booming.

It sounds like you are suggesting an orchestrated coup took place, or something to that effect. Who's to say Slagel didn't step down for personal reasons?

"In-N-Out rules!!!"
I know movies play a part in this. I never knew what In N Out Burger was until I saw The Big Lebowski, and from that day on I convinced myself that their burgers were amazing without ever having one. This is true for many people I know.
After having In N Out half a dozen times, I can say that their burgers are on par with Steak N Shake. Please INO fans, don't kill me for that statement!
