Don't be scared off by the dead shopping mall surroundings. Despite exterior appearances, I was pleasantly surprised by what I found inside. The interior of this tiny restaurant is cheesy but I somehow found it charming in all its cheese. The fresh roll was exactly as promised - fresh. It was stuffed with shrimp and herbs and the dipping sauce added just the right spice. Check out the chicken satay appetizer as well. For an entree, I had the pineapple fried rice with chicken which sounds boring and very unadventerous - as I mentioned in a prior review, this is the year of Thai and I am still easing into it so I went with the safe entree with intentions of sampling others. I do not regret the choice - it was delicious with fresh pineapple and good quality chicken. Although I did not try it, the chicken Parata looked incredible and will be my entree next trip. It is a traditional Thai curry chicken with some kind of yummy looking bread to mop up all the sauce. Bring your own beer or wine as you won't find any here, but they are very accomodating to those who bring.

How did this place find Rockwall? Uptown atmosphere without all the fuss and crowd. The food is cooked in a wood fired oven. The gourmet hawaiian style pizza with oranges, balsamic and prosciutto was outstanding. The spinach salad and ribeye are also must haves. This is worth the trip out to Rockwall.

If I was rating only the quality of the steak, I would have given this one a five but the salad drags me down here. You can cook your own steak with some guidance from the grill guy (is there a name for this job???) or have him do it. For some reason, I am always drawn into cooking my own and seem to do quite well despite my failed efforts at home. Wednesday night is buy one get one free and you can't beat that. Get the filet.

As with Primo's, I love the fact that I can avoid heading into Dallas for this one. The cheese fries (with bacon, chives and ranch - no jalapenos for me) and chicken sandwich are my staple but my husband gets the burger with swiss and mushrooms. The other advantage here is the patio overlooking the lake and downtown Dallas - don't forget to order a strawberry daiquiri to sip while enjoying the view.

This is my international market of choice in large part due to its cleanliness and friendly owners. These little markets always seem to be dirty and you have to really check the dates but I have not encountered those problems at Shine's. For mediterranean cooking, this is the place to come shop. They also have a cafe with several fresh and take home foods. Go early and order the Turkish breakfast - feta, olives, eggs, turkish sausage, tomatoes.

Friendly lebanese family-owned place. The humus with small pieces of lamb on top was a new appetizer for me and it was quite tasty. For those afraid to try new things, they did a great job with the tilapia which was well seasoned.

Thin crust pizza lovers unite. It's not Campisi's but it is good. The pizza was well cooked, not soggy and ingredients were fresh. The crab claws were good and went well with the garlic cheese bread appetizer.

I don't come here for the barbeque - don't even know that I have ever gotten it. I come for the veggies - and not healthy ones. Just good old home style bad for you veggies - squash casserole, potato casserole, fried okra (best in town, real batter not that stuff where you can't even see the okra). The patio is a nice break from the work day.

If you like Thai food, you can't go wrong here. Good value for lunch but be prepared to wait. It moves fast but it always crowded. Get the soup instead of the salad.

Nice restaurant for something different. The ham and cheese souffle was very good. Do not sit outside on a warm day - the souffles are very warm and it is just not conducive to outdoor dining in the heat. Quaint inside and, although I did not have one, the salads looked good.
