Thanks ya'll. Sometimes it's just time to move on.... I'm looking at a space now that you're going to LOVE! Keep your fingers crossed. I doubt we can be open by September though, Pavel. :-(

Pearl on Commerce, blues bar in downtown Dallas, re-opens in September
Thanks everyone - and thanks especially to all the fabulous local musicians who have volunteered their time for these 2 pre-re-opening shows!

"believer in god" does not equal "has high moral standards and is virtuous".

News on the street in plano is that her x-boyfriend's vehicle was spotted by the gleneagles' security cameras, and that he made a large withdrawal from his bank on tuesday and hasn't been seen since.

Matt's Rancho Martinez in Lakewood will become a Mi Cocina
Mi Cocina has better margaritas, hands down. But on every other level this is sad, sad news. Loved Matt and loved his cooking, and that location in lakewood holds special memories. And who can forget "Matt's No Place" next door..... But I guess everything changes. For those of you that are unawares, Matt's has 2 other locations, one in cedar hill and a newish one in north garland on the bush tollway.

Dallas Mayor Dwaine Caraway backs Ron Natinsky in mayoral election
All I need to know, is that he voted against the anti-booting ordinance. Despicable.

Natinsky sided with the boot thugs when the council was trying to pass the ordinance to require them to provide parking payment receipts. In case anyone has forgotten.

The Advocate reports "there's no question" H&M will be in Dallas -- either in the Galleria or North Park.
Went to the H&M in Brussels - think Nordstroms. On Steroids.

Questioning the wet/dry issue in Dallas
I think winos hanging/fighting/begging is more indicative of the demographic of the neighborhood in general, not due to the availability of alcohol. I have lived in other states where alcohol was readily available nearly everywhere, and those problems do not exist de facto at every liquor store. In fact, when it is available at the grocery store, you don't need "liquor stores" :-)

Questioning the wet/dry issue in Dallas
Michael - wrt your question, I think MO gave the best answer, but more generally, it shouldn't matter. Alcohol is legal in the state of Texas, and it should be available wherever the market conditions support it. If a store closes because they don't do enough business, so be it. Furthermore, if we allowed it to be sold EVERYWHERE (supermarkets, 7-11s, etc), I think we would all be happier with the prices :-) (now if we can just get rid of the TABC altogether, THAT would be cool!)
