Yep - hard to beat a Hole-In-The-Wall greasy burger and fries, tho, as pointed out in another post, it's a wonder they are allowed to operate, given the condition of the premises.

Just a heads up - tonight is the last night you will be able to buy alcohol at the Hole (till midnight), they are resigning their TABC licenses. Tomorrow night will be the last night of live music, and it will be BYOB. The Hole will remain open during the daytime for lunch and afternoon burgers, but no more alcohol or live music. I think their new closing time is going to be 6:30pm.

Have been to this location once (it is very convenient to our current abode). Food was "just OK", and once it was served, we didn't see our server for a very long time. Margaritas - didn't even finish it. Service - teenagers who acted like they sure had better things to do.

They deliver to us at Pearl all the time. Apparently the cook recently bought the place and is in the process of getting his own liquor license - and also had to get the place re-inspected and brought up to code. All that said, the food is still great!

We recently added Bangkok City menus to our delivery menus at Pearl. On our first delivery, here's what we got.... Pad Thai - thumbs up. Larb Kai - thumbs up. Fried rice - thumbs up. Sticky rice with mango - thumbs up and dancing!! Service (including the nice lady on the phone taking the order, and the delivery guy) - thumbs up and dancing!! Great food at a reasonable price and service with a personal touch that shows they care what customers think!

Felt the need to post a comment tonight - went to the wood grill, not for the first time, but our meal AND service were exceptional on this visit.

Have been to the wood grill many times, but I must say the service has usually been crappy at best. The food is always wonderful and tonight was no exception.
Cioppino - one of my favorite dishes - I've had it on the west coast, east coast, gulf coast, and several places in between and outside of - it's always different! Tonight's cioppino at Daddy Jack's was very good - one of the best cioppino broths I've ever had. Mussels, little neck clams, shrimp, and a fish that might have been snapper - it didn't matter, it was wonderful. The dry white vermentino wine was a good match too. Topped it all off with something called "chocolate deconstruction" - I'll spare you the details but if you like chocolate, get it!

Hopefully the improvement in service is no accident - we would definitely go there more often !

Had a couple of these delivered last night and I do believe it was the best pizza I've had in quite a while. Wish there was one closer to downtown.

Tried the Cuban sandwich for the first time last night - and now I know why you get the sauce on the side - wicked hot stuff !! Apply sparingly and you'll have an awesome sandwich. Jimmy's is a delight for anyone who loves to cook or loves Italian food and wine. I plan to visit there more often.

We have been ordering sushi delivery from these guys for some time. Great sushi for the price, BUT, the portions have definitely been getting smaller lately, must be the deep ellum curse starting to take hold.
