Taverna is a great restaurant with good food and enjoyable ambiance. I have eaten here at least a dozen times and have never bee disappointed with my food. When in doubt, go with one of the specials of the day. I have had beef tenderloin, mahi mahi, a risotto special and all have been superb. Off the regular menu, the straw and hay pasta is excellent as well as the gorgonzola and pear. Wines by the glass or by bottle are affordable and the overall atmosphere feels genuine.

In addition to their dinner menu, they also serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays with $5 bottomless mimosas or bellinis.

Ciudad is a superb place to have brunch on Sunday. There are some typical brunch favorites with a twist - sweet potato pancakes, french toast, seafood migas and pork tinga hash (Try it - its good!) Also they usually have daily specials that are out of the ordinary and delicious.

The patio is perfect for Dallas in the summer because the majority of it is completely shaded during lunch/brunch time.

And lastly - the mimosas. The do have $1.50 mimosas during brunch which is always great but they offer traditional ones with OJ as well as tropical ones made with some other type of fruit juice and they are excellent.

Eating dinner at Ciudad can be expensive, but the brunch is more affordable.

I love Gloria's! From the complementary black bean dip I could make a meal out of own its own, to the great happy hour prices on their margaritas - and its happy hour all day Monday - Wednesday - it is a constant standout. All of their grilled meats, flank steak, chicken and pork are superb and so are the Salvadoran dishes, tamales, pupusas, plantains. Visit and you won't be disappointed!
