UPDATED: Start, new restaurant from Erin and Mike McKool, to open on Greenville Avenue August 8
"Healthy food???" Not!
Your heart's arteries are just as easily clogged by a burger whose meat is from grass-fed cows than by a McDonald's burger!
Sounds like one big marketing gimmick and misinformation that is harmful to the public.

Spec's to open in old Blockbuster Video space at Preston Royal in Dallas
I went to the Spec's at Walnut Hill and Central. Just to find it, and figure out where the entrance is, you need a GPS!
Then when I went to check out, they were going to charge me more for a bottle of wine than what I remember the price said on the tag.
It turns out that in order to get the price on the tag, you can't use a credit or debit card! Otherwise they jack up the price!!!!
I was furious!
I go to a restaurant that gives you a discount if you pay cash, but it's a percentage OFF THE MENU PRICE, not JACKING UP THE PRICE AT THE REGISTER IF YOU PAY WITH A CREDIT CARD!

In-N-Out in Dallas-Fort Worth: Is the honeymoon over?
I ate some In-N-Out fries with cheese on top, and they were disgusting. The cheese was worse than Velveeta, and the combination made me want to throw up. I ate a couple and threw the rest away.

McDonald's WILL make your fries extra crispy, if you ask. They even have a special parking area for you to wait, if you want to stay in your car, and they'll bring the fries out.

I like Ojeda's for Tex-Mex and Javier's for Mex-Mex, especially their warm salsas and their Combo Nachos! Yum!!

Whole Foods Market takes first pre-emptive strike at Trader Joe's
Trader Joe's is well known in other cities for its incredible selection of KOSHER foods. Hope that's the same when it comes here, with many consumers who keep Kosher!

Park over Woodall Rodgers is officially named Klyde Warren Park
I find nothing wrong with it and am happy that he gave away part of his billions for a charitable cause.
How do you think the Meyerson got its name? Not out of Mort Meyerson's pocket but, instead, ROSS PEROT made a donation to help build the hall, with the condition that the hall be named for MORT!

Hardly ANY kosher items there. The few that are are not what folks who keep kosher actually eat!

Movie review: Pure Country 2: The Gift
The original "Pure Country" was a masterpiece and one of my favorite movies of all time because of a fairly good script, fantastic songs/soundtrack, and--above all-- George Strait.
I saw the trailer for this sequel, and I wanted to barf.

Restaurant review: Bliss Raw Cafe and Elixir Bar in Dallas
How many times has this place been reviewed?? Enough, already!
And you're really pushing it if you're relying on journalism students for content for your website. Yikes! Who cares what they think, anyway?

UPDATED: Cowboys Stadium to become opera venue
I agree that some will come just to check out the stadium. Or perhaps they've never been to an opera before and are curious. Or they don't have anything better to do on a Saturday night, and the price is right. It likely won't be the ATTPAC crowd, anyway. And-- who knows?-- maybe it will actually strike a positive nerve and get some of those folks turned on to opera. BTW, I think "Barber of Seville" would be even more accessible to those requiring a dumbing down, with its numerous cartoon quotes, but they're not doing it this year.

I Live in Dallas picks best pizza in Dallas
Yikes!
Many misspelled words and grammar errors in this story: Editor??
"They're all incredibly different, and each has ITS (not "their") own, distinct personality."
"... there are vast differences AMONG different kinds of pizzas..."
It's "NEAPOLITAN," not "Neopolitan." (From the city of Naples, honey, not a nouveau city dweller)
JUST TO NAME A FEW.
It's annoying and distracts from the content of the story, not to mention the credibility of the reporter.

Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra - Live and Let Die: The Music of Paul McCartney
I feel so sorry for the musicians to have to play that drek. Guess it's no worse than the DSO musicians having to play video game music. Wonder if they're teaching that at Juilliard?

Photos: Sneak peek of Spec's in Dallas, opening Monday
Unlike Centennial, which is right across the street (and even Goody Goody on Greenville and the one in the old Marty's), Spec's has no Kosher wines. Stupid move, and they obviously did no market research of the neighborhod. When I called to inquire about their selection, they assured me they carried Kosher wines...in their HOUSTON store. I told them that was a bit far of a commute.
This store has already lost my business.
p.s. Centennial wines are all on sale at least 25% off, and some are up to 60% off (including Kosher wines)!

Bloomingdale's in Grand Prairie??
The only thoroughbred customers they'll get out there in the middle of Hicksville are four-legged ones.

Bloomingdale's had a store in Dallas in the 1980's. It was at VALLEY VIEW MALL (yes!) That was before the Galleria was built. It folded.

Dessert review: Flippin' Out Crepes in Addison
There used to be a wonderful place for crepes in the Quadrangle many years ago called The Creperie. Then there was the franchised Magic Pan at NorthPark in the 1970s, which wasn't bad. Yes! It's a shame there isn't a great creperie here.

UPDATEDx2: Video: Gov. Rick Perry's anti-gay video lacking in "likes"
Too bad Rick Perry likely won't be the GOP candidate. He believes and says and votes what most Texans (and most Americans) believe. But the Left has hijacked the media, so of course his straight-talking (pun intended) views are not p.c. and, especially with the frighteningly strong gay activism, are ridiculed. That is why Perry's campaign guys called the ad "nuts." They knew that Perry would be skewered by the liberal media if it ran, and their prediction sadly was correct!

Why is a restaurant called Cafe Malaga not serving desserts from Andalucia?? If I want food from Catalunya or Galicia, which are completely different in style from southern Spain, I wouldn't go to a restaurant called "Cafe Malaga"!
