Other interesting side notes not mentioned in the AFI blurb: the film also features Sharon Jones of Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings fame on backup vocals - and Bob Ezrin's the dude who produced most of those kick-ass early Alice Cooper group albums - "Killer," "Love It To Death," "School's Out," "Billion Dollar Babies," and "Muscle Of Love." God love him.

Doggies just rule. And the mixed breeds definitely get the best of both worlds.

Friday Night Films with AFI Dallas "If you build it, they will come" ... could've described Ray Nasher's vision for NorthPark and his sculpture center, or Lenier Temerlin and Michael Cain's desire to start a local AFI festival. The two team up for an all-American screening of Field of Dreams in the Dallas Arts District. Or there's always fireworks. More info

12oz, the 'young, lost soul' you're referring to here is already a hardened sociopath. No 'trying' necessary on his part.
And yes, while I'm sorry to hear that Mr. Broadnax's early life was so hellish - I'm also sorry to note that he never learned the art of empathy, the difference between right and wrong, and the valuable life lesson that the universe doesn't revolve around his ignorant ass.
