Anyone have any clue as to what that march was for?

Texas transportation tax increases may be coming soon
Butbutbut... They aren't taxes, they're FEES! See, taxes are for everyone, while fees are for the little people. (Something I thought the Colin County Republican could get behind.)

Saw the O's with the Old 97's when they played HOB. And yes, they were quite good. BTW, the above pic has them labeled as the Drams.

So there's that, then. But you know, if only the teacher had been allowed to have a revolver in her desk...</http:>

Texas Legislature to crack down on puppy mill cruelty in Texas
I never understood the concept of a "puppy mill." Do they turn them into puppy meal, or puppy flour or something?

It seems to me that we are missing the point. You know what has the best chance of preventing school gun violence? It's not more guns floating around, it's perceptive teachers. Remember the VT shooting? Don't you think that instead of having armed students in the classroom, those students would have been better served by the shooter getting some much needed mental help? I mean, the guy was sick in the head, and all the signs were there. Even if every student in his class was packing, something was going to happen. We need to start thinking about the causes of our problems, instead of reflexively jumping towards the easy answers. Whether its gun violence, war, drug abuse, or financial shenanigans, we always seem to try and fit our problems into nice neat little boxes and life isn't like that.

Agree. Secondly, lets say I have decided to shoot up my classroom... I can now save myself the trouble of passing a background check and buying a gun and just clock my fellow classmate over the head with a brick and steal his. More guns to solve gun violence. Sounds like starting a war for peace.

I'm not sure what to think about the fact that it is a Spanish firm either.

Coppell-based Mannatech reaches settlement with Texas Attorney General over deceptive trade practices
The only thing Mannatech did wrong was they weren't big enough to have the FDA cover their asses for them. For god's sake, if you can't manage to figure out a little medical fraud while GWB is in the white house, you deserve to be in jail!
"Oh the huge Mannatech!!"

Don't get me wrong, I was glad to see that they would leave original lanes open for the little people... My argument is this: Say, for example, you are going to spend 30 bucks over the course of a year to have the privilege of driving on a toll road. I guarantee that if the state levied a tax that would cost you $30/yr, and used that money to build the same highway, you would scream bloody murder.

Duncanville red light cameras remain in effect after ruling
I have to imagine that the majority of red lights that are run are run by accident, or are nit picky instances like the right turn on red situation described above. In the first instance the cameras have no deterrent effect. In the second the cities are preying on people through a capricious interpretation of the law. I got a red light ticket a while back. It was raining and I wasn't paying attention and I literally skidded through an intersection after hitting the brakes too late. How sending me a ticket after the fact makes me safer I have no idea. I didn't want to skid through the intersection and nearly kill myself...
